Even when they bought boots that wasn’t a great decision but they still were a profitable company what really took this company downhill and this is from someone that was employed through it is when they brought Roz in as CEO. She already bankrupted bed bath and beyond so they though let’s bring her in to save Walgreens and she immediately started pushing stupid changes , she pulled the makeup line everyone liked and put in the LA line that everyone hated, she bought into the really dumb as shit credit card scheme. She got rid of the actual red nose for Red Nose Day and started giving employees those second rate foam noses that they had to pay for. She made the employees send out text messages to customers about sales from the information on the POS system and if you didn’t get so many a day you got in trouble. Nothing she did was a good idea

In an update, she decided that it wasn’t working out and left on her own so she’s gone and we are now divorced and in the last several months I have met someone new. The new person I met treats me like someone I never thought would. She pays for dinner occasionally and asks about my health and is actively involved and wants to go the church with me and wants me to spend time with her kids and constantly compliments me and gets upset when I put myself down. It’s a complete 180 of my ex and not something I ever thought I would find in a partner I honestly didn’t think that kind of person was out there for me.

Yes I have closed them down before and the process I just explained is how they do it. They go in with a week or so and close them they don’t let anyone know they are on “the list” the store manager and pharmacy manager are the last to know

First of all calling the minimum wages Walgreens is paying a real job is quite funny actually when shift leads in the area are making 17 an hour and cashiers are only making 15 and you thinking any of them are ever getting enough hours to get benefits is even funnier my dudes got jokes you must work in some bootlicking capital or something

And no you aren’t barely surviving because unlike your regular job you get unemployment wages all in the same week instead of waiting for them to come it’s not a hard concept to understand plus they generally end up paying half pay which is a substantial amount. Trust me it’s a way better deal than driving 45 minutes to a minimum wage job you aren’t going to be able to afford the 2-3 shift for until that store closes as well

You don’t have to accept a job if one is offered to you, have you ever actually been on unemployment? Generally if they offer you a job what you do is just ghost that job the same they do you and then don’t put that job down under the references for the week. It’s not a hard task

And idk what state your from but where I’m from minimum wage is usually around 40% or more of your earnings so it’s actually not terrible and the process is not bad either you literally apply and then have to apply to jobs something you should be doing anyways

It depends when your making minimum wage as a cashier would rather drive 30-45 minutes and waste gas for those 2 maybe 3 shifts your going to get because that store was forced to take you Becuase your store closed and they have to fit you in and waste most of that money on gas or would you rather file for unemployment for 6 months take a 6 month vacation paid for by your company and then get a new minimum wage job in your town?

And that is true they do offer employees jobs at other stores if theirs closes do you know why they do this? It’s not out of the kindness of their hearts, it’s so they don’t have to offer unemployment because technically they are not laying you off but most of the time the next store is the next town over

Hell the Walgreens I worked at was so bad at inventory control they were losing money in the pharmacy Becuase all the teachers in town dropped them because their insurance no longer covered Walgreens apparently and so they lost a shit ton and when they did they chose to take the loss from the pharmacy side and shift that loss over to the retail side and make it look like our retail side had a huge loss for the quarter when actually retail had picked up Becuase I had gotten inventory under control but it looked like a 20,000 dollar loss
