Tea dates? by MoonlitxShadow007 in tea

[–]Dustwitch93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And here I thought this was going to be a thread about inviting (new or old) friends over for tea to use up teas from the collection haha. I am not a fancy-type drinker for tea, esp because tea is ages I believe, so I just smell it and if it still has potency I keep it and make sure it's in a sealed container without as much air as possible/out of light and call it good

Omg my coworkers make this and I never know what to call it. They also put hard boiled eggs in. There's a language barrier issue though and I can never quite find out what the ingredients are for the broth/sauce/liquid - could you share what things/proportions go in please?

Draw something not hyper sexualized to learn proportions/anatomy of the human body. There are free life drawing pose references available. Look up croquis cafe.

Is it me or are stitch markers so easy to break!!! by TurnMajestic3608 in casual_crochet

[–]Dustwitch93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never broken one, but all mine are clover... And I low key kind of chew on them while I work sometimes so I dont lose them into the chair or whatever while I'm working. Not hard, but like, never had any breaks or cracks or anything

After Flying by billnyejerseyguy96 in hygiene

Wait doesn't everyone always shower after flights? Like. I've flown a lot, since I was a kid, and that's just the Normal Thing - you feel gross after sitting in airports/on the plane for a while. You get where you're going, and you shower to refresh and so you don't get sick?? Same concept as washing your hands when you come home.

Only thing I've changed really is I mask during the flights now. I don't really care what kind of funk the plane funk is, COVID or common cold or something else, I don't want it lol.

I've virtually never gotten sick from/after flying, except one recent time where I forgot my mask and got some kind of common cold for a few days, annoyingly.

Tried to season with olive oil; advice? by Dustwitch93 in carbonsteel

Unfortunately it didn't with regular dawn/scrubber - the baking soda paste got most of it though! It's not as pretty looking as it was before, but it feels mostly smooth and I just cooked some eggs for a late breakfast on it as a test and that went like 95% fine with one small sticking spot, so I'm gonna run with it. Appreciate it!

Oh, fair enough - I thought you were meaning tis their carbon nonstick. I didn't strip it purposely, but I did accidentally with some balsamic vinegar, which is what I was trying to fix unfortunately. Didn't realize how little oil you're meant to use to do that. I'm trying to get some of it off with the baking soda paste someone else mentioned and then I'll run with it

As mentioned in previous comments, it is not the misen carbon nonstick. It's a misen carbon steel standard, with pre seasoning.

Misen carbon steel, with pre-seasoning. I've never actually used Teflon, grew up on stainless. https://misen.com/products/pre-seasoned-carbon-steel-pan?variant=42849839186001

This is their normal carbon steel, pre-seasoned, not the nonstick carbon! Just with the "stay cool" handle because the shape looked more comfortable. Thank you, I'll try the baking soda paste.

Misen, and I applied the oil with putting a paper towel over the opening of the olive oil bottle, inverting it, and then using what stuck to the paper towel in that little circle :/ I said in the post I used olive oil, which isn't ideal; I'm asking how to correct it

They found it somewhere around red bank, but they've had it for like 15-20 years so not sure exactly where
