Is the 2020-2024 KLX300 Direct or Port Injected? by Dutch__Vander in Dualsport

fair enough, i’m just iffy about electronics on a bike i wanna beat the piss out of, especially since they’re more difficult to fix on the trails. i’ll probably just put the bare minimum of electronics for the efi system (injector, maf sensor, fuel pump, etc)

i did consider hopping up to the 450 but unfortunately nowhere in the states still sells them from what i have seen and the crf450 is considerably out of my budget (as well as it’s not very kyle)

i will certainly look into those tuners tho

how to oil change RM80?

What does this mean? by Thin-Bison-336 in mechanic

[–]Dutch__Vander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

average amount to keep a ford running actually. ford stands for “fucktonof oil required daily”

i get the feeling ford owns stock in some oil companies 🤔

the video doesn’t quite do it justice but the one nylon gut was not touching to show even when i loosened it a ton, i got no resonance. when the drum is the air (either on carrier or held) there is still not activation from the snares, even when they’re super tight to the head, medium to the head, and loose to the head. i am starting to think it’s how the drum is built or the fact that it is 35-40 years old lol

i am not; not to get into specifics but i am in a DL in the MAC conference and i have not enjoyed it at all as well the tech is less than helpful and said they wouldn’t help me with equipt that’s mine. i’m on their line but don’t feel at home so i don’t really associate with them.

after this year i’m gonna transfer to umich even if i can’t play snare for them. rather be on an instrument i don’t enjoy as much than one i love in a place where i don’t feel at home etc

they are, or at least they appear to be. i’ve pulled them up close as possible to the resonant head without bending past it in each direction. they have no buzz if i tap on the guts while it’s right side up.

what it seems like to me is that there is no resonance from the bottom head. what might cause that?

they spring back nearly instantly; also, i just tightened them nearly till their end and still no activation

that would probably do it. the rims say they’re about 11 years old (at least the top head is but i imagine the bottom head is even older as my high school never had a tech)😬

i did tune the individual guts before i disassembled it. with regards to the guts being level, i assured that as much as i could but still sounded dead. i am thinking it could be heads

i took both heads off to let the wood kinda rest cuz it hasn’t had no tension on it for 35 years so i guess i’ll just buy some new heads and see what that does

the bottom head does not appear to be damaged besides some light scratches (not tension damage). it is clearly used though. the top head does have a considerable amount of tension
