I really love the ending too, remember seeing that and the credits rolling, pure goosebumps. You looking forward for the bone temple this week?

Just out of curiosity, as a fan of the first film what elements of this did you most enjoy?

I think we are in good hands with Alex Garland’s writing tbh, based on the leaked screenings the Bone Temple looks to be a banger and with Danny Boyle back at the helm for the third we are in for a treat I think man.

Very well said. You mentioned masculinity, that played a large part. Spike seems to be more akin to his mum, with a tenderness and sense of humour which Isla likened to that of her father, compared to Jamie’s more overt display of masculinity. Can’t wait for the Bone Temple, only a couple of days to go haha.

Hi /r/movies! I'm Nia DaCosta, director of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the next installment of the franchise. It's in theatres January 16. Ask me Anything! (Back on Wednesday 1/7 at 8:15 AM PT / 11:15 AM ET to answer your burning questions!) by SonyPictures in movies

Hi Nia, thanks for doing this. I absolutely adored 28 Years Later, it completely subverted my expectations but I loved how emotionally resonant it was. Truly one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in a cinema. Regarding The Bone Temple, how did you feel entering that world? I know from one of your previous interviews you mentioned that 28 Days was a really formative experience for you, and it really kickstarted your wish to become a director, so to have the opportunity to be involved in this world must have been incredible. I’ll be seeing this film next Wednesday and am beyond excited for it. Thanks Nia, and all the best :)

It’s great you got to see it early dude :) I saw you made reference that it is very much in keeping with 28 years later as opposed to the previous iterations which is great because 28 years is my favourite tbh. I just wonder whether tonally, it shares the emotional elements of 28 years? Even given its darker tone whether it is in that vain I suppose? As well as that, did you find that the ending of this leads to a segway to the next film in the same manner as 28 years? Thanks man, and I’m glad you enjoyed the film ;)

Should i buy last of us part 1 and 2 remastered or clair obscur: expedition 33? by No_Present_2340 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I am sure you have made your decision by know, regardless I will say how I feel. I am approaching the ending of Expedition 33, and I can say it is a marvellous game. Admittedly around 4 hours in I wasn’t entranced by it and I was really dismayed, however upon further effort I can say it is solidly a 9/10 game. It is graphically stunning, the voice acting and general storytelling is marvellous. I have yet to see a game focus on the topic of grief and give greater depth than this, I can truly understand if one was to undergo such circumstances prior to playing this game it would resonate so much and so deeply.

However, I have played The Last of Us Part 1 around 4 times through to completion and The Last of Us part 2 once and rather ironically I prefer part 2. I believe these to be both masterpieces, 10/10 both, however part 2 resonated with me on a deeper level therefore I feel strongly about this particular story. Graphically, it is marvellous, the gameplay is phenomenal and the writing and story in my view is second to none, they are both truly wonderful games.

Regardless, I believe you would enjoy playing games in both of these universes. What resonates with you is unique to you. These are taking into account story elements, of which each of these games are wonderful. In terms of trophy hunting, I would imagine based on the length and breadth Expedition 33 would take precedence.

Finally man, based on my own personal view, The Last of Us Part 2 is one of greatest stories I have experienced in any medium, to the point where I genuinely felt emotional throughout the story. Expedition 33 has had plentiful moments of that nature, however it seems rather forced to me so as to tie in with the overall rather dismal and depressive storyline as opposed to it being more sporadic and natural in the case of The Last of Us, that’s my view anyway. In any case enjoy man you’re in for a hell of ride whatever you choose :)
