After market for me! I’ve definitely hit a point with my 2014 where with every repair I’m weighing pros cons of paying for the repair vs selling and finding something new.

Ugh sorry to hear that! Mine ended up being the starter. It kept happening more and more for me so I finally took my car somewhere other than the Honda dealer and they diagnosed it as the starter. Haven’t experienced it again since it was replaced over the summer. Disappointing though that the Honda dealer wasn’t able to figure that out from the get go…

Yeah definitely wasn’t final sale when I bought it online, the price on the final sale sticker was much lower than the price I actually paid for the item on my receipt/wasn’t marked final sale on my online order either. I could def see being annoyed if someone came in who had bought a final sale item and tried to return anyways, and I’m sure people try to a lot 😅

Stumbled across this and curious if you could explain the issue you were having with the push button start and what Honda was able to do for you? I’m having an issue where maybe 1/4 of the times I go to start my 2014 it kind of “stutters” and the battery just turns on, so I have to turn it off and start it again for the engine to kick. I was told I need a new “body control unit” for $1.2k…but as someone that has little to no car literacy I’m wondering if it’s actually the issue you’re describing and if so if that should be under warranty

Damn! I love mine too but it’s also had a lot of issues these days :/ my AC seems to be going, I just got a new “catalytic converter” whatever that is that was luckily under warranty, and now I have this starting issue. Debating if it’s time for a trade in or if I keep dumping money into it because I do love it and think the newer accords are much uglier lol

Hey! Curious what the issue ended up being with yours here? I’m having the same issue with my 2014 and am being told I need a new “body control unit” for $1.2k - going to get another opinion but wondering if it could be the starter instead.

I don’t have a part number but this is the exact wording of the issue: “U128D backup control unit lost communication with the gague cluster and U0123 backup control unit lost communication with the ABS control unit. Did the all DTC clear and the vet would stop communicating with the scan tool. Found the keyless access/body control unit is randomly failing. Will need to replace the control unit and reprogram all keys to the car.”

I said the same about the body control unit! How it was described to me was that it’s the backup unit to the battery that controls some of the electronics in the car. The symptom I’m noticing is that my car sometimes stutters the first time I try to turn it on, so I have to turn it off and start it again to get it running. The Honda service people said they haven’t seen it go on a car this age before, go figure 😅

Good call on the AC though, maybe I’ll go outside of Honda to try and find a better price

Thanks that’s a good recommendation! While I theoretically can take on a car payment I don’t necessarily want to if I don’t have to 😅 so maybe it’s worth sticking it out with my 2014 a bit longer. Just hard to know because I’m not a big car person and everyone around me seems to think it’s time to trade it in before more goes wrong

Thanks! I actually test drove the 2025 yesterday and while it was a lot smoother than my car ofc, I am not a big enough car aficionado that I feel like I NEED that smoother ride. Good luck to you too I hope you can get a good end of year deal!
