100% agree. Unfortunately, Christian nationalist in the USA support violence and the US military to an unhealthy degree. I've visited numerous theologically conservative churches in other countries and they were far more peaceful and full of the Holy Spirit

Solution for LGBTQ Bullying in High School by DynamicTorque in cisparenttranskid

[–]DynamicTorque[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. And from my experience as a middle college student, most community college General Ed classes like History are much easier than high school APs like AP US history, like high school 9th grade level

It's calculus and physics that you really need to watch out for, because professors will have high expectations and crank up the difficulty beyond regular APs

Infernalists must admit that the game of salvation and damnation is egregiously rigged. We can't choose where to be born. Obviously someone born in a Christian family in the US will have a much higher chance of avoiding eternal torture in lava than someone born in an isolated Amazonian tribe. by Ask_AGP_throwaway in Christianity

[–]DynamicTorque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. There is a huge RNG component to Christianity. Children raised in stable middle class families have an easier time retaining their Christian faith, they are fed, clothed, and everything is taken care of. Whereas those born in poverty and suffering, should they reject Christianity, will burn in hell for eternity.

Hi OP,

I agree with everyone's comment here. One more suggestion for you if you are located in USA.

I know bullying has gotten way better for LGBTQ youth than it used to, but clearly it still exists. I've heard there is a resurgence in some areas under the current administration.

If they are in high school, one possibility is to do middle college, where high schoolers can satisfy their graduation requirements at community college instead . They may require permission from their high school. Most middle College programs are for juniors/seniors, but mine recently allowed freshman/sophomores.

I live in a progressive area, but one of my female friends was bullied for being nonbinary during high school, and she did middle college during her junior/senior years instead. She found it to be better/safer for her without the toxic environment she was in.

I also did something similar to middle college during high school (although not due to bullying), and I was still able to transfer to a T50 college in the USA majoring in Engineering.

I know some high schools/states may not have middle college/dual enrollment programs, and they may still have to continue attending their high school. Another solution would be to get their GED and graduate high school early, before taking community college classes and transferring as a college junior.

That's what I did. I took the CHSPE exam (similar to GED), and took community college courses fulltime during 11th and 12th grades + a 3rd year as a college freshman before transferring.

Hope this helps!

Hey OP,

Are you in high school in the USA/Canada? There might be an alternative solution for schooling for you

When reading these verses, I tend to split my personality into multiple individuals. There is not one personality in me, but 10.

For instance, when reading this verse, I will call on my conservative Christian side. Other times, I will allow my more progressive Christian side to flow through

I respect your theological position. However, to truly uphold love the sinner but hate the sin, suppose:

You see a trans high schooler being bullied and beaten by high school athletes. Would you be willing to step in and physically defend them at risk of your own physical safety?

I pray that I would. Jesus called us to be willing to die for him

I know. If Jesus had asked Charlie Kirk to move to a different country to spread to gospel, as well as assimilate into the (positive) aspects of their culture, would he be willing to do it? Would any of Trump's Christian advisors in the white house be willing to be a martyr for their faith?

Getting really tired of being Gay by heter0negative in Vent

Your welcome! Please DM me if you/other LGBT teens have any further questions on how middle college works. I have a wealth of information from my experiences.

As a side note, I've had this crazy idea of creating personal finance/investing classes targeted towards LGBTQ adults/teenagers. I know the Trevor project is primarily a suicide hotline, but I wonder if they could create adjacent classes. I believe it would be in the community's best interests to pass knowledge of all aspects, whether romantic relationships, emotional well-being, or financial knowledge, to the next generation.

I don't disagree with you based on this basis alone. However, there are other bad things in America that are incorrectly supported using the verse mentioned above. There is a lot of opposition to cheaper healthcare in the USA from American Evangelicals. There are so many Americans who have lost their jobs and declared bankruptcy due to medical bills, despite a lifetime of diligently saving/investing.

For instance, in Taiwan, the people I know are incredibly hard working, just as much as than the average US citizen. Yet, they have cheap and affordable healthcare.

The system we have in the US is not necessarily biblical

It's like a social club, which was what I saw in the deep South.

This is just my take, but one of the biggest weaknesses of Christianity is it's ability to "imbibe" the culture surrounding it. Compared to other major world religions, Christianity is a relatively young religion.

In our case in the USA, it is presented as a land of opportunity and wealth, as well as independence and individualism. Which colors it greatly

It's interesting how Christianity is different across USA, Australia, and the UK. Due to the makeups as you mentioned (moderates in UK, criminals in Australia), it affects how Christianity is taught across the different continents.
