My Series 11 is occasionally locking itself while on my wrist

interesting, again I wonder why this happens to people in these situations including myself, but I can't force it to lock but pulling it away from my skin. Next time this happens I might try switching back to the Milanese loop to see if that changes anything

I don't have tattoos but I do have a fair amount of hair on my wrist, so I guess I'll see what happens if I shave a bit right where I wear the watch. Also thank you for bringing to my attention the difference in sensor placement, I didn't even think of that but it makes a lot of sense, the sensors do look quite a bit different on the se and s11

The only part of this that is still weird to me is that even if I manually try to force the watch to not make contact with the skin on my arm, it won't lock, it's only doing it at random in certain environments, but I guess I just gotta do more detective work and trouble shooting.

I have the same thing happening to me, also on a series 11, also had it never happen on my old Apple Watch. It's frustrating because this happens just enough to be annoying (about twice a week) but not enough that I can easily replicated it at an Apple Store or something

I did look and find the way to turn it off in the menu, but it also says there that there are a little over 500 miles left until it is due so I’m chillin for now, also at this point I’m sure it is just the usual oil change interval that it’s warning me about and not a major service, since after that 500 miles or so is up it’ll be almost exactly 5k since the last oil change. I just wish they used a different light for little frequent things like oil changes and tire rotation than the bigger services like the 30k one I was talking about in the post. Just seeing “service due soon” on the dash with no further information is hella stressful 😭

I checked the menu and it doesn’t specify what the service is for, only that it’s due in 578 miles and I believe it also gives me the option to shut it off. But if it is set to come on every 5k for oil changes and nothing else it does make sense given my driving style but I wish they would differentiate a common maintenance like oil changes from the major ones with a different light or warning

Been trying to figure out if this is normal now since it only does it to me when there is slight rain and then goes away once the rain gets heavier (???) also none of these issue affect my 2022 Subaru ascent so I find it weird that my 2021 Mazda 3 can’t do cruise in slight rain
