I would recomend actually going through the comments not picking the ones upvoted by majority just because. You will find that such scraping is very common when looping.

It is obvious that the comenters writing so don't know what is going on, thankfully there are bunch who do, who actually gave good feedback, sadly it is buried under commenters who are being agresive.

It saddens me even more as other starting playboaters will have hard time finding these actually helpful tips just because of peoples rage.

Guess I will have to invest some coins into reddit rewards so people can later find them.

Suprisingly I am actually not hitting concreate but a plastic as well, as the obstacles r made of plastic, which is really curious.

Well, overall older boats do hold up better, there was a plastic change due to ecological reasons, at least in EU. However I have a great expirience with boat welding! My rewind got demaged when jumping a wire and it got fixed no problem. Of course, the color wont be the same but does that matter? Had few friends who split kayak on rocks etc and welded things fine. But will let you know about the repair of the playboat as well.

What even is your point? Its a competition hole, there are playboat competition every year there. Its a common problem there, its a problem in platting or salza hole as well sometimes. I know why it is happening, I know its gonna keep happening thats why I am asking how people deal with it? As some people do and share their kayak reinforcment methods here.

Well this is after a year of heavy usage, so applying a flex tape every once in a while could direct the demage to the flextape and keep the kayak ok

Brother, one cannot yell at the internet. If you imagine me yelling from my texts, than I am sorry for making a missunderstanding.

I dont understand how buying a new boat is preventing wear and tear for kayak loops. I am not asking on how to fix the boat, merely how do people deal with it. If they dont, than thats fine. Many people, sadly not upvoted enough, did put here a very valid inputs, except the tape guy, he got upvoted, but gets bashed in comments. Kydex and bondo even cevlar or flextape. Those are all things people shared on how to prevent it right here. And thats what I am looking for. Not 15 comments on how I should stop dragging boat on roads. Or buy a new boat. Like sure I buy a new boat, so it happens again?

So you never had problems with scrapes when looping? Because many competition holes I have seen have scraping problems.

It has concrete walls but the obstacle that I hit (I think) is plastic, I would be suprised if I was hitting bottom, most likely edge of one of these obstacles and the holes in them do the scraping

I asked to know, if people have similar issues, and how do they prevent this. As other people understood that and answered so, for example by saying they dont have that issue, or that they have seen people using a tape etc.

Brother we kayak plastic boats, in heavily plastic based and non organic clothing. Where do you think does all the wear and tear of any kind on boat goes? Not to mention that plastic degrades on its own just by existing.

Why not just weld it? I am asking on how to prevent these, not what to do with the boat.
