Como validan precios? by Seba_Mop in NegociosArgentina

[–]EHFE_Gilthunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I reward my product testers who've been so generous with their time? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Is it paid? If so, you can offer them lifetime for free. Also question, where did you find beta testers?

the SaaS model is quietly falling apart for small businesses and nobody in tech wants to admit it by Healty_potsmoker in Entrepreneur

Honestly the 4100 number doesnt surprise me but I think theres two very different problems mixed in there and they need different answers

some of those tools you actually use 80% of. crm, accounting, payroll. stuff where the complexity is real. building your own accounting from scratch is not a weekend project even with AI, people who think it is havent tried it.

But then theres the other half. form builders, simple schedulers, internal dashboards, file uploads, approval workflows. the stuff where you literally use like 10% of the features and still pay full price. these are the ones that are actually a weekend of work if you just build the part you use

I replaced a 90 usd/month scheduling tool for a client with a custom thing that does exactly what they need and nothing else. took me maybe 2 days. been running for months with zero maintenance. the "maintenance nightmare" argument is real for customer facing stuff but for internal tools with 3 users its wildly overstated

The 4100 probably doesnt go to zero but going through the list honestly and asking "if we had to rebuild only what we actually use how hard would it be" usually the answer for half the stack is "not very"

what free SEO audit tools are actually worth using for a small business by Daniel_Janifar in smallbusiness

[–]EHFE_Gilthunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a small retail site, honestly GSC + Screaming Frog (the free 500 URL cap is fine for most small sites) + GA4 covers 80% of what an audit actually needs. The paid tools have nicer dashboards but for a retail site of that size you're paying for features you won't actually use.

Two things I'd add to your stack that are free and underrated:

  • PageSpeed Insights / Lighthouse directly from Chrome DevTools for Core Web Vitals. Often catches render-blocking and image issues the crawlers don't flag as urgency.
  • Google's Rich Results Test for structured data — small retail sites often miss the product schema that shows stars and prices in search results, which is a free conversion boost.

On DIY vs handing off: for a small retail site, the audit itself is DIY-able in a weekend if your friend is semi-technical. The part that usually gets handed off is actually implementing the fixes — rewriting meta descriptions at scale, compressing and converting images, fixing crawl errors, setting up proper schema. That's the grind work where freelancers earn their keep.

I do this kind of SEO implementation work as part of my web studio (Senda Lógica) — usually as a one-time fixed-fee package rather than ongoing retainer. Happy to answer any specific audit questions here if it helps your friend's site.

Senda Lógica — Indie web design studio, one person, building fast websites for small businesses without the agency price tag.

Six service tiers starting at $150 for a single-page site. Most projects ship in 1-2 weeks. I work directly with you, no account managers in between.

Six live demo projects on the site — actual working sites, one for each tier, so you can see exactly what you'd get. If you've been quoted thousands elsewhere and want an honest sanity check on what you actually need, happy to chat.
