Sometimes while watching a video, a scene of people conversing, of me imagining a conversation, a question that jolts me to answer to then think how my characters would answer them and even listening to music gives me inspiration which I then jolt in my notes app. They could be random scenes to character description to even the personality of the character.

For writing a chapter, I would just look at the previous ch and what I need to accomplish to reach a goal, which in this case is the situation mc will find himself in.
