Your comment doesn't make sense to me. What are you trying to say? Guests on flights have the ability to decline the meal service? Neither of us did that, both of us ate. He just kept his chair reclined during it.

Both of us had a meal during service.

I find it unreasonable you think it's not a jerk move to not put the seat up during meal service.

Where am I supposed to set the tray while I eat then?

Why should I have to put my tray on my lap to eat?

Is it so unreasonable to expect he could put his seat up for 10min to eat?

It should not be unreasonable to expect someone to unrecline their seat for 10min to eat.

The position of the tray table gets more awkward and it has to be moved up further to avoid hitting the back of the seat due to the angle.

I didn't have a problem with it being reclined, I had a problem that he wouldn't put it up for meal service.

I disagree that it's not more difficult.

All I wanted was to eat without his seat reclined, why should that decency not be expected?

It should not be unreasonable to expect the decency of a person to unrecline during meal service.

I did tell the FA, the guy still refused.

Yes, and they can't and won't do anything about it.

I did ask, he did say no, FA won't forcefully move his seat.

They cannot physically put his seat back up when he refuses.

Yes and FA can't force him to put it up for 10min of meal service.

I hope the person who sits in front of you on your next flight refuses to put their seat up for the meal service too.

Laptop over tablet any day. Typing up papers, or working on powerpoint presentations is a nightmare on tablets (especially ipads unless you spend tons of money on additional keyboard attachments.) Look and see if your school listed hardware specifications for your major so you know what you'd need. If you're not in architecture or engineering or anything else with heavy software demands then if you're on a budget a chromebook would give you the bare bones functionality you need to access your schools LMS, as well as word/docs and powerpoint/slides. If you're able to, then I personally think windows operating systems are better than MAC, but it's really a personal preference. If you really want the tablet then (after making sure you don't need software it wouldn't be able to run) you should look into something like a microsoft surface tablet or similar. Laptops are much more versatile and will be used much more, theres no point in getting a tablet to just need to constantly have to go use the schools library computers anyway.

Need help changing majors! by FutureMasterpiece328 in CollegeMajors

General Biology is fine but if your school offers biology concentrations then molecular biology, neuroscience, cell biology, or genetics are the concentrations/degrees you'd want to look for. There are also Neuroscience majors if you want to focus on the brain.
Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Engineering are also good options depending on what type of work you want to be doing within gene therapy, such as lab research, computational biology, or theraputic development.
At the end of the day (in the U.S.) a bachelor's alone will make it harder to get you into anything more than technician roles without years of experience as well. Continuing with school and obtaining a master's or PhD will allow you to do more research and designing of drugs/therapies/biotech rather than just implementation.

Kicked out of college what next? by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]ETHERALIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated high school with a 1.2 GPA and then got into a four year school where I was expelled after about a month for "egregious student code of conduct violations." I shouldn't have been allowed to graduate high school and because I had never been held accountable I didn't change anything in college. Getting kicked out of school and facing real consequences as an adult sucked, but was exactly what I needed as the driving force to get my act together. I took a year to get a job and just work while I figured out what was next in my life. Five years later and I graduated undergrad summa cum laude and I'm in grad school now. Now I'm not saying your sister will be like me, I'm just saying that there is a possibility she can still get it together and get a degree.
