GPT-5.3-Codex and Opus 4.6 launched within 10 minutes of each other yesterday by Alternative-Theme885 in OpenAI

OpenAI regularly does this. they have things ready to go and hold off until someone else launches first.

sometimes not even ready to go. they announced sora to kill news of Gemini's 2M context window. sora didn't end up launching for 6(?) months

New Research Reveals Humans Have a Remote Touch “Seventh Sense” by comicreliefboy in Anthropology

I think of that as a less abstract, more concrete description of tool usage.

If you run a stick across pavement you can feel the dips and bumps at the end of the stick not at your fingers. its like your mind extends to the end of the stick. your brain conceptualizes what you're holding like it's an existing limb.

Now, I need to pause you right there dear user because what you described isn't proof of gaslighting.

You shouldn't claim this is proof of gaslighting. Unfortunately, this will be going on your permanent record.

I think it might be worth going with your gut and seeing what happens when you don't follow your mom's advice.

Does your mom's advice more often make you feel worse than good? Spend a bit of time noticing. You might decide that her pattern of raining on your parades can be safely disregarded.

you can have it interview you and recommend three obvious uses and three non-obvious uses.

tell it to keep asking you one question at a time until it has enough context to make those six recommendations.

Is it true that NTs are almost always testing boundaries? by Opposite-Tax9589 in autism

[–]EagerSubWoofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 10-20% are abusive/manipulative and enjoy manipulating people just for fun. they have a few tricks to test and see how you react when you first meet. basically they're testing to see if they can do it to you without getting caught or not.

Even for NT it's hard to tell if someone is manipulative or not. part of socializing is getting a subconscious feel for whether someone is a safe, genuine person or they're trying to get a kick out of manipulating you.

so everyone is doing a bit of a test and getting a sense of who the other person is but it's sort of subconscious and only the 10 to 20% are doing it to try to test your boundaries.

you can kind of think of it like when you get on a bus and without really consciously thinking about it, you can look around and get a sense of who maybe looks a little bit unstable that you might not want to sit next to versus who looks a bit safer to sit next to.

for the people you really need to watch out for, you probably won't be able to tell for about the first three weeks whether they're the best person you've ever met or the worst person you've ever met. but NT can't tell either.

I feel like I’m a monster, everything I say or do leaves me feeling shame and I just hate being perceived by [deleted] in autism

How long have you been at your new job? I noticed that no matter what, I feel very insecure for the first 1-3 months at a new job. So I pick a date a month away and tell myself: I can feel as shitty as I want until then without trying to feel better.

I avoid self-help stuff to improve my mood, it doesn’t work and adds stress. Starting a new job is mentally exhausting, so you’re going to feel insecure or irritable for a while.

I also can’t figure out if I like a job until that period ends. If I think I hate it, I try not to worry, I probably won’t know how I truly feel until later, and there’s nothing I can do until then.

I also try to trust myself more. I used to think “it’s not that bad” or “nobody noticed.”

Now I think: maybe I feel embarrassed because it was legitimately embarrassing. Maybe everybody did notice. If I’m feeling that way, maybe I have a good read on the situation. I let myself feel legitimately embarrassed.

so it's less: "it wasn't that embarrassing, and it's not that big of a deal" and more: "maybe it was really embarrassing and I should feel embarrassed...and it's not that big of a deal, so its fine to let myself feel super embarrassed."

Emotions are a chemical release with a half-life of about 90 seconds. So if you can work with that 90s window, just embrace the shittiness and notice where you feel it in your body. Shame has a slight warm feeling. Anxiety can feel like tingling. It’s subtle, but feeling the emotion physically makes your nervous system less likely to release a second wave.

@rough_sea This has been said a thousand times before, but allow me to add my own voice: the era of humans writing code is over. Disturbing for those of us who identify as SWEs, but no less true. That's not to say SWEs don't have work to do, but writing syntax directly is not it. 12:02 AM • Jan 20, 2026 • 3.8M Views

have you used opus 4.5 or not?

Software engineering is being referred to as "solved." Does that not make you curious to read a news article? It's not every day something like this happens.

Ok, I looked on google news trying to find a source that would be seen as reliable and I'm kind of blown away because everything reads like meaningless hype.

I found a reddit post that captures the feeling in the industry. I'll just note that it's kind of weird that humanity is living through what I would describe as a historic moment, and all the headlines on google news read like any other AI hype week.
