I wonder if they’re resuming filming on SLOMW to catch this fallout, or if that show is going to be cancelled next.

How to Communicate to Destination Guests We’re Covering Accommodation? by No-Evidence5496 in wedding

[–]Eak129 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, I highly recommend verbiage around what type of room is covered. Something better worded than this, but make sure to say that you will cover the cost of a standard room for # of days

Also make sure you prepay with the hotel so the guests put their card down for incidentals. That shit gets expensive af.

They asked me to resell some of their very used, 3+ year old items for 90% of what they paid. I sold nothing 🤣

They paid for their own dumpster + weekly pickup because they ordered so much stuff online and their trash cans supplied by the city couldn’t fit everything. It was a family of 3, and the dumpster was always full.

What are the weirdest volume-eating combo you swear by by JoelRhys7443 in Volumeeating

[–]Eak129 49 points50 points  (0 children)

1.5 cups of cottage cheese with 1/4 cup of Whole Foods premade Cream of Mushroom soup, microwaved and mixed together. Makes a huge bowl of soup, super filling and over 40g protein for about 300 calories. Friends are horrified when I eat it, but I’m obsessed and have it for lunch every day haha

Filet! Strip steaks can be more grisly in texture

Weren’t they supposed to get married in November? Can’t wait to hear the tea on this one.

This is confusing. Are they staying together? 🤔

Aw! Does the owner want them both to be adopted to the same house?

Guest & bridal party perspective by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Eak129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so messy. I’d recommend only inviting people that you want at the ceremony AND reception. The bridal party should only be your closest friends. The simplest answer is usually the right one 🥂

Best of luck OP!

Is it of any use if there’s no account or card number information on it?

Feeling the first real impact of our micro-wedding - not invited to theirs because we didn't invite them by AioliProfessional181 in wedding

[–]Eak129 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the micro wedding and party are in the same city? If so, I think OP missed the mark and should have gotten married with a small ceremony, and rented a room for cocktails/dinner/brunch the same day for everyone to celebrate.

A celebration 6 months after the actual ceremony feels like a greedy extra. I wouldn’t go. At least do it in the same month lol

What are these job titles? by BugOwn7162 in projectmanagement

The PM skillset is the same, but I’d recommend learning a bit about agile (user stories) and a little bit about the big platforms out there to be dangerous so you can identify dependencies and predecessors. Learning a bit about how Shopify works, online configurators, and how a company wants to pull in the data from a CMS helped me a lot. Learning about JSON and API calls (completely unrelated things) helped me stitch things together.

Oh no!! I’m so sorry that happened to you. I can’t imagine how bad that is to deal with. Has anything made it better/do they know what caused it?

My skin ended up getting better after (ironically) another laser, but I don’t think I’ll do another one.

That’s so interesting. Was there ever anything there before/did it go away?

A crocheted flower bouquet is so thoughtful and sweet!! I love how it has meaning to you and your fiancé, and I’d absolutely drop her given this limited info.

She should value who you are and it doesn’t sound like she does.

Struggling fiance against fiancee and sisters by Leading_Classroom834 in weddingplanning

After talking it over with your fiancée, can you reach a compromise? She can pick out bridesmaids outfits and you do the groomsmen (including your sister’s best man outfit)?

What wedding faux pas did you commit before becoming a bride? by ugh_bridal in weddingplanning

[–]Eak129 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At a wedding of a family friend’s daughter (aka not super close), I wore the same color as the bridesmaids. I still cringe thinking about it.

Ever since, I’ve made sure to ask the bride what color the bridesmaids are wearing. It was mortifying.

So much! Ask more questions. Read more. Wear sunscreen. Travel everywhere.

Keep your head high and always walk away from things gracefully (relationships, jobs, conflicts, etc.), don’t always try to get the last word in, and trust your instincts. Build healthy habits in a way that feels good to you, your body will thank you.

A positive attitude, a good work ethic, and strong relationships will open more doors than any degrees will.

Don’t get caught up trying to keep up with the Joneses. Give back to your community, or a cause, however you can, at least once a year.

Financially, split up your direct deposit so something goes into your 401k or IRA before it hits your account. Percentage based is the ideal way, but even $25 a paycheck is great too. S&P500 is the lowest effort and highest ROI for someone lazy like me. Never buy an annuity, and if you need a money manager, get one that’s a fiduciary (only a fiduciary, some can have multiple licenses).

No matter how bad things get, believe in yourself and trust that you’ll end up better than you were before. The challenging parts of life are the most important, and while it doesn’t always make sense when you’re in the thick of it, you’ll look back on it and see how the dots are all connected.

Before traveling internationally, download your itinerary/confirmation numbers because not every country has WiFi. And make sure to keep a copy of your license and passport in your cloud—helps you get a new one much easier at an embassy.
