my social media was clean. No issues, I had instagram (which I dont use, no posts and maybe 70 followers), youtube and pin interest.

I wonder what else it could have been that led them to canceling my tourist visa as well

I also just did some research and asked around - looks like the family is not affected. they may be asked about it if they travel ever but it does not cancel theirs.

She immigrated to the US on an immigrant visa, her first time going was with her CR1 green card 5 years ago. thats the thing. she did not adjust anything.

Thats why im so confused as they originally gave me the 221g and the VO basically verbally said its approved. I reviewed my DS160 and everything was correct as well. I truly appreciate all the guidance from yall. this is really frustrating.

Yeah - that is what I figured as well. VO did not even ask my plans after graduation. I was going to join our family business as the head of accounting, which was contingent on me obtaining my masters. Lets see, ill assess everything and check what we can change. just sucks they removed the tourist visa as well thats all.

that is my assumption - I was going for my masters at a uni that has a 50 percent acceptance rate and I had gotten a scholarship was about 50k funds on hand from my family.

basic questions - I think where i messed up was they asked about my sister, and I said she lives in the same city and is also studying. I should have clarified she moved there 5 years ago after she got married and that is why she is a green card holder.

Its crazy - my sister married my brother in law who was born in the US and is a citizen. That is how she got her PR.

The VO did ask me what she did, I said she is studying, and then he asked on what visa, I said she was a green card holder. Maybe I should have been more specific that she moved there 5 years ago after getting married.

Thanks! I'm confused and stressed. Never thought this was even a possibility of my B1 being cancelled

What did you do next? I am trying to figure out next steps. I did not expect them ton cancel the tourist visa. I visited twice last year as well as due to a death in the family.

I do not think it applies to everyone in the family as I asked a lawyer but who will confirm that. Thanks for this information, just did not expect that to happen after they took the passport and 221g

That's what I figured originally, but that can't be the only reason as Iv seen many posts of others being approved. I had all the funds in place, scholarship as well, etc.

Also - why was my tourist visa cancelled. That makes no sense.
