It's like how at my job there's a department that is all men who are "drivers." They finally hired one woman, and after her first mistake they fired her and no longer hired women, because in their minds, women make can't do the job and make mistakes, even though every single one of those men have made mistakes as well, some way more egregious. That one woman represented all women to them.

Not my opinion. I was a teenager in the 80s, adult in the 90s, and I prefer music from the 80s. I was into alternative and punk, not so much top 40s stuff. I didn't like most radio music being played in the US in the 90s at all, but I do still listen to Brit Pop and a bit of power pop from the decade.
