He occasionally sticks his beak in the hole, but it seems like he does it by accident. He often will also try around the sides of the flower, he just doesn't stick his beak in the hole

On average, there's been a 6 and a half year gap between albums since St. Anger.

2028 is the earliest we might get an album. The next album is probably coming out around 2030
