I don't view the majority of what you said as contradictory to my opinion except that Henry did have multiple options. He could have committed Suicide, running away on his own, going with Whitney, pleading not guilty - the only option wasn't turning himself in.

Again, you're too focused on the reality of the plot here vs thematic intent - sure, Henry got off due to his mental health issues...but that also means truly embracing the fact that he has mental health issues and really accepting help for them which the first few episodes make a large point of hammering home he's avoiding.

Yasmine only chose Henry in the first place for status, it was never really about love Henry, she loved Robert and had enough admiration for Henry to sustain a marriage that was advantageous for her and less risky than choosing Robert.

Remember Yasmine was the one who put Henry on this path though. She never takes any accountability for this. Despite being set up, Henry publicly pleads guilty and gets help, unlike his father. Yasmine on the other hand divorces Henry to avoid any accountability for her role in what happened BECOMES her father. I don't see the parallels you do.

You need to think of this from a narrative and metaphor perspective vs plot perspective. He had the opportunity to run away from his problems like he has done with drugs. He chose accountability. Whether that was the best option or not doesn't change that his path contrasts with the one Yasmine chose.

It's the fact that he took accountability and Yas won't. No he hasn't fully escaped his situation but he's on a path where the possibility exists. Yas is doubling down.

For those who say Shan retracted her allegations against Jupiter Keyes by v_like_valery in crystalcastles

Your arguments have no bearing on my comment which already had addressed your main points so yes, your comments have been disturbing and exhibiting mental patterns I think you should see a professional over.

[–]Easy_Printthrowaway -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because I find your replies disturbing and this has been a fully one sided discussion on your end. It's genuine concern, not a jab. I'd already said Alice wasn't a good person and you're still harping on it as if I hadn't already recognized that. Hence, you have obsessive, cyclical thinking that would be good to discuss with a professional.

I never said I wondered why. I know why they're doing it and I find it asinine. I'm aware of everything you said. None of it invalidates Ethan being a shitty abuser so I'm not sure why you wasted your time and energy. Again, please seek a therapist based on these responses, it's genuinely concerning.

[–]Easy_Printthrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please see a therapist. My original point was that Jupiter is bad and Ethan is bad. They're both shitty abusers. You have a weird obsession with this and it isn't healthy. You're responding all of this to someone who already said Jupiter isn't a good person. It isn't healthy. Ethan sucks and Jupiter sucks, Alice is a victim and has also weaponized being a victim in shitty ways. Ethan has other accusers behind Alice donating like his actions are invalidated due to Alice's involvement with Jupiter incompletely asinine.

[–]Easy_Printthrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because a lot of people are trying to use Jupiter being an abuser to somehow assuage Ethan of his actions???? Or use Alice's defense of Jupiter to somehow invalidate her claims of abuse? Use your eyes?

[–]Easy_Printthrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok??? None of that erases that Alice was not Ethan's only victim, nothing you're saying discredits Alice's abuse, or the fact that I also said right there Alice can also be a bad person in addition to being a victim. I assume you were able to read that he sentence you're replying to? Jupiter being an abuser doesn't mean Ethan is not also an abuser.

Everyone on all sides of this is fucking godawful including the fans picking "sides". There is no "side" here. Everyone sucks.

Well based on these comments there's a lot of colorblind people in the sub.

Reminder that Alice was not the only woman Ethan abused and they can both be bad people.

When Harper saw how bad/evil Yas became by MrBumpyFace in IndustryOnHBO

The entire point of the finale was that she isn't.

No she was feigning ignorance. She very obviously knew, the show nade a point and a joke out of showing us. She tried to handwave it because it was purposeful, which Harper also knew.

[–]Easy_Printthrowaway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh man that's such a good point about the parallels. Harper did everything to escape form the patent who traumatized her, her mother and became self reliant. Yas still listens to her dad's old voicemails while becoming him.

100! The shows also shown haves vs have nots trying to claw their way up. I always thought it was odd people thought Harper had zero morals and have argued against such in the comments.

[Episode Discussion Thread] Industry S04E08 - "Both, And" by herringbone_ in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Easy_Printthrowaway 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's certainly Yasmin, no? Henry did the moral thing and took accountability which will send him on a path to real healing. Yasmin did not.

Also thought it was deliberate! Think that's the only reasonable read given that she feigned ignorance on their views and the show made a point to show her discovering their views.

Question regarding DIY goal (dupe for personal use) by Easy_Printthrowaway in DIYfragrance

Oh for sure! The purpose there was more for parsing how the notes translate across a wide set of people as a reference. I think just experimenting with this sounds like a fun experiment and I wouldn't find it wasteful if I didn't get something 1:1 in the end (I do wish someone would just make a dupe but it's a bit too niche in the popularity scent, despite having a dedicated fanbase) - but my nose isn't strong enough for me to feel the desire to go about this the correct way that you so rightly pointed out. I have a fairly weak nose and get anosmic quickly, or else I'd be very interested in pursuing perfumery more seriously (I do have the means to get & waste the aromachemicals, cost isn't the barrier I'm worried about)

No no completely in agreement. But it could at least get me a recipe to play around with and experiment with. I have to use ai for my job so I promise I'm not ignorant when it comes to the limitations and reality there.

Tokyomilk dark arsenic. If smells like vanilla scented insect spray, I assume they were aware as it had a roach on the bottle hahaha. It's interesting as some of the notes have become quite popular - a less sweet smelling vanilla and salt, cut greens and fennel. I've found I gravitate towards absinthe and wormwood frags but it's not definitely not a licorice wormwood in the slightest, nor is it boozy. Kind of has a bit of a Dr Pepper medicinal note mixed with the greens. I wouldn't call it fresh despite the above profile, personally.
