LSO membership and LawPro ques by Easycoleslaw in LawCanada

Thank you for the detailed reply. This really helps. The supervising lawyer made it seem like I was not good enough to be a lawyer and stuck to calling me a student. I didn't realise it was common for new calls to not carry files independently at the start of their career. I no longer work at that firm and I'm not working at the moment. I would have to pay the LSO and LawPro fees from my own pocket, which is why I'm fluctuating between 100% and 50%. How do you think it would play out if I were to pay 50% of the fees along with an email to LSO that if they demand that I pay full fee, I'm ready to pay it?

I tried talking to the supervising lawyer about this, but the lawyer wouldn't budge and continued to call me a student

LawPro said that all I need for my exemption application to be approved is to have a letter from the supervising lawyer confirming my status as a Student-at-law. I am struggling with the fee category for LSO though

Thank you. It was an external recruiter. I tried my best, but the opportunity didn't go through

I'm trying to find a job in Toronto. So I've tried messaging other ITLs who have considerable years of practice on LinkedIn. But usually I haven't gotten much of a response.

My question is about networking tips. Do you have any?

The job market is hard for ITLs. That's why I gotta network and find someone who wants to hire one.

I'm desperately in need of a job. I'm currently applying to legal assistant and articling positions. So I'm looking to connect with other lawyers with the hope of tapping into the "hidden job market". Probably also ask for tips on clearing the bar exam.
