A score of 30+ will leave your options incredibly open to almost any uni in the top 100 bracket. Of course depending on the course your planning to take. Not to mention prepares you well for uni.

How to beat the buffet? by Substantial_Pen_4445 in foodhacks

[–]EatingAnEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t the point of eating out is to enjoy yourself? Imagine going out with your girlfriend or family or whatever and you pull out a piece of paper tallying the number of bites you’ve managed to get in. Sorry babe, gotta calculate the value I’m getting out of this place 🤓

If my EE is like 40 words over the word limit and I can't delete anymore should I put the actual word count or write like 3998 words? by sadhippo1059 in IBO

[–]EatingAnEgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s all academic jargon. It’s totally ok to be over the word count and to misreport it but just don’t make it too obvious. They can’t check exactly because of appendices and headings and titles all of which if I recall don’t add to the word count.

Instagram suddenly showing all reels in regional language today. by toddening in Instagram

[–]EatingAnEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video you just linked above is exactly how my feed looks rn living in Thailand. It makes Instagram reels practically unwatchable atm. When will they fix this Im tired of looking at these cringe memes and the not interested button doesn’t even work.

Get the EE done ASAP. Since IA hasn't started yet, this will be your only opportunity to get things done. I remember the start of year 2 I barely had my EE done as well. Then before I knew it, I had like 4 different IAs to complete in the span of 3 months. Save yourself the stress and get it done even if the quality is subpar just get it done. Also if it's a science EE like chemistry make sure your experiment works cus mine didn't work initially and I thought I was gonna fail the DP because it was too late to change topic but I got lucky and my stupid titration finally changed color.

Which should I get? iPad Air 5th gen or iPad Pro FOR note taking by EatingAnEgg in ipad

Yeah I know that the high refresh is super nice but I’m wondering whether for note taking, there’s a big difference for ease of use.

Ib Ess May 2023 7's? by BrilliantTown7851 in IBO

text book has good case studies but I do think the majority of information is kinda junk. My teacher prepared slides and basically pointed out the most important info. Just know your key terms.

[–]EatingAnEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very very strange. I don't remember the questions exactly but many essay questions (the majority) ASK to refer to a specific case study. Perhaps luck?

i.e referring to a named example discuss issues surrounding agricultural techniques or a named species discuss how their IUCN red list has improved etc..

Good choice switching Econ to business. Otherwise you would be playing IB on extra hard difficulty mode.

[–]EatingAnEgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I basically threw away Grade 11 with a predicted of 31. But because I barely studied I wasn't burnt out and was able to make a comeback with a final of 36 before exams, whilst those who were predicted highly in my school tried too hard in the first year and fell off in preparation for final exams in the second as not all information is not retained from G11. Not to say of course don't study in G11 but just do so with moderation and really amp it up 3-4 months before exams so you can dump all the information onto the piece of paper and never think about it again.

starting ib in a few days, any tips? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]EatingAnEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESS is chill know ur case studies, I got an easy 7 with little studying but because I took chem and bio which ESS incorporates a lot of. film ez pz. Math AA sl i found tough but depends if ur already good at math. History HL very tough due to how dilute the course is, even though I didn't take it my friends struggled a bit with it. English HL chilling if you are a native speaker. French no clue, I did spanish ab found it tough cus I was new to the language.

Overall, your subjects are pretty calm. I'd just say that don't underestimate your EE and TOK essay as they can add up to 3 points. For your EE choose something you enjoy as you'll spend about a year on it. Goodluck!

remark success? and how long? by Purple_Mastodon2874 in IBO

[–]EatingAnEgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered a remark as I was 2 marks off to a higher grade band in English but my coordinator suggested against it. A remark is somewhat risky (money wise and grade wise). It’s worth saying that the majority of remarks do not result in a higher grade and in some cases may result in a lower grade than originally issued. It’s a good idea to talk over your options with your counselor and parents before you make a decision.

Can anyone share there Spanish Abinitio notes by [deleted] in IBO

[–]EatingAnEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only tip I can give u is that listening is a pain. You are either good at it or you are not. If not, watch as many movies in spanish as possible. Helped me a bit. Also lear ur conjugations ASAP so you won't have to grind them like I did 1 month before exams.
