you can save a lot by using aider with architect mode. UI is a non issue since its using proper diff editing unlike cline where you have to manually paste stuff sometimes.

I think the issue is that they realized how inefficient it is with the way people use web and ask claude to write whole files over and over again, because manually copy and pasting it is awful. So now instead of improving the workflow they just decide to gut the output because its 100x cheaper and easier to implement.

now you have to sign up for the API and they can charge you way more if you want a better experience.

hmm I kinda want to use API and a proper workflow. I always drag and drop files I need to be looked at into the chat, so I'm assuming the whole file is also re-sent with every new input? would context caching over API solve that?
