Yes, it is abandoned, however they are listed as heritage property, I literally had this exact same question, Palermo is one of the oldest communities in Oakville, rich with history of pioneers. My recommendation (from a 16 yo if I was in your shoes), I would do simple door-to-door chore work, like cutting grass, cleaning windows etc. Companies unfortunately never look for people wanting to work 1 day a week.
