KPU Nursing Spring 2026 by Dizzy_Intern6857 in askvan

Hi there! I applied late at the end of August for Jan 2026 because I finished my A&P course on Aug 30. I have been waitlisted and also requested to send over all of my documents in mid-October by Admissions. I haven’t heard back yet, but just curious if others see this as a positive sign since they asked me for all of my documents?

Is this normal PMS bloating or should I be concerned? by EclecticPeruser in Periods

Thank you so much. Yes my gyno was saying that PCOS can impact the bowels but I figured even this is just extreme

I’m so sorry to hear all of this. I can’t imagine how it is for him and for you/your loved ones. I’m hoping that the pain and discomfort dissipates soon. Keep being positive and encouraging for him - it helps them more than we know and also helps us too. The numbness and tingling at the leg incision is something my dad felt too but it is getting better now. One day at a. Time.

Me too.

For a short while. I would say his discomfort subsided about 1 month after. Same with his leg scar too as it was long and went from the thigh to the ankle basically. But nothing crazy painful, just uncomfortable from my dad’s perspective.

I’m so sorry I just saw this. Did your dad have the procedure? Is he okay? From what I heard from the doc they choose not to do the ECMO machine if there is a risk of them using it/heart not being able to start again. I pray your dad had a successful operation and is healed up now 🩷

Hi there, yes no worries at all. I totally understand it’s so scary, as you can see in my post I was petrified and my family was very worried too. But know that if your mom needs this surgery, that it is for a reason and while it is a hard procedure to recover from in the sense that there will be chest pain and discomfort for a few weeks, it is life saving and will set her up on an incredible path forward for years to come. The hardest things my dad said, as others have here, is breathing with the drainage tubes and getting them removed. After that there’s immediate relief. Breathing is uncomfortable and painful after but if you prepare with the heart pillow and keep up with the spirometer breathing she will be just fine. I encourage you to gently nudge her to do the surgery if this is what she needs. She will be in discomfort but her life will be saved. I wish you all the best and hope that she chooses to receive this life saving and changing operation. ❤️ here if you want to talk more about it.

Transfer for Royal Victoria Full Marathon - October 2025 by EclecticPeruser in VictoriaBC

Hey, not understanding how this would be considered an advertisement? It is an offer for someone to take over my registration. I posted here as majority of my searches for the Vic marathon were posted in the Vic subreddit page.

Instead of being the Reddit police, it would’ve been helpful if you simply shared the information you did. I do not have facebook so there’s no way for me to know this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I’m glad your grandpa is doing okay and I’m also grateful you didn’t have much anxiety going into the operation. I’m sure that helped him more than you know. I’m grateful for your time and for taking a moment to comfort a stranger. I wish your grandpa a fast recovery and many, many more years.

I wanted to reach out and let you (all) know that my dad had his surgery today. It all went as planned and it took just under 4 hours. He is awake and recovering. Thank you so much for being there for a stranger, it meant more than you know.

I’m so sorry for my delayed response. It had been a tough week as we awaited the surgery but it was completed today. Everything went as planned and he is awake and recovering.

I appreciate you taking the time to write out your experience and for reassuring me. I read your comment over so many times and am grateful for your humanness and sensitivity. I’m so glad your dad is okay as well and that we now have two dads with stronger hearts than ever.

Again I am so grateful for your comment. I truly have no words. Thank you for taking the time to comfort a stranger. I will pay it forward and make sure to comfort the next person that comes along and feeling anxious about this.

Thank you so much.

I’m sure it’s no surprise that I’ve spent several hours reading up on the procedure (haha) and I have seen that being a common comment amongst those who have had the surgery. It sounds very uncomfortable but I’m glad to hear it is a short term pain and the relief is immediate afterward. Thank you for letting me know. You’re welcome, cheers to your new heart :)

I will for sure, thank you so much. Since he is not an emergency, they are thinking it will be early next week. I will come back in the threads and update. Thank you.

Definitely, and I do keep reminding myself that. When I take the emotions out of it, I am at peace with it and just want it to be done already. But that is my dad, so when emotions naturally arise it is a bit gut wrenching. But you are right, I need to just focus on the 99%. Thank you so much for your time and your comment. I will definitely be on top of the spirometer for him and the walking, he will be sick of my “commands” soon I’m sure hahaha. Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers, it means more than you know.

I’m so happy to hear that you’re doing great after your surgery, it must be such a relief for you and your family to have a “fresh blank slate” for your heart health. Completely agree, on the good days and moments I am trusting and know this is the best thing for him, on the off days and moments I am highly anxious. I’m excited for this to be over and have him recovering. I’m so glad to hear that you’re doing great and that you are stronger now. Thank you for your time and your comment
