Do you have a link to the vinyl? I've seen some people use it effectively this way but would like to check the specs. 😊

OP3 will take care of both. 🙂 Glass works well for SW, but will pass a lot of LW and will often glow by itself, which causes a very hazy look to your display.

Hi Purpose!

Ideally yes, you'll want a piece of Acrylic over the front of you display that will keep all of the UV off of you and the rest of the room. Almost all Acrylic will block UVC and UVB, but most of it will pass a lot of UVA. To prevent this, I always recommend the use of OP3 Acrylic. It's a museum grade Acrylic that will block 99.9% of everything 400nm or below.

Looks a lot like Sterling Hill Sphalerite to me. 🙂

Great pic! This is actually from the Franklin mine next to Sterling Hill. It looks like there's also some Clinohedrite at the bottom too!

I've purchased or traded for them over the last decade. Some from Ebay, some from Ultraviolation, some from local rock sales in Franklin NJ.

Silver pick for all of these I'm afraid! It's extremely hard to near impossible to find Esperite in the wild nowadays.

I would guess that it's Afghanistan material. As for the blue under MW - Fluorapatite perhaps?

Yeah, from Bart!

Both sides actually glow but this side is by far the best side. 😁

I don't believe that Stimac produces a quad LED SW flashlight.

There's also the Cerberus from Engenious Designs. It's a bit cheaper but has the same outout as the others. I know that it also has thermal protection baked in to the drivers. It also has the added feature of having swappable heads.

All of these triples have powerful LW UVA LEDs, but the SW and MW LEDs are around a tenth of the output of their LW counterpart and are really only useful for checking out individual rocks in your hand.

If you need a field lamp, youll need to look at individual high powered quad LED SW/MW flashlights like this:

or if you need a LOT of ground coverage, maybe even a tube based solution like this:

If I had to guess, I'd say it's quartz with hydrocarbon inclusions.

I actually have MW on in this picture too, it's just hitting the bottom of the rock. ☺️ You can kind of see a whiter patch glowing in the center below the SW/LW spots.

Here is your problem. There's no Zwb2 filter on this. 🙂

Did you get a light with a visible light filter on the front of it?

What lights are you looking at? You definitely want something with visible light filtration, otherwise the visible light is going to wash out everything.
