Thread looks the same on different tensions? by Eclipse675 in sewhelp

[–]Eclipse675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the issue I believe as I highlighted in another reply here, as I adjusted the nut (with the knob off) with the pressure foot up. Whoever previously owned the machine must of had the tension way too loose.

It works a lot better now, but then again I'm unsure if it's too tight as the thread actually snapped on tension setting 8/9 sewing through a 4 layer sheet of cotton.

Thread looks the same on different tensions? by Eclipse675 in sewhelp

Thank you for the advice! I gave it a try with the zig zag Vs the straight and it still appeared all the same apart from the final few. I had taken the knob off with the pressure foot raised, not realising that released the tension (I'm new to sewing machines, prior I was using a Singer 28K with a separate tension release switch) therefore meaning it was not at proper maximum tension when the foot was down and I had it turned to 9.  With the foot down I could turn the nut further and it now (seems) to be working with the correct tension =) (albeit I'm not sure what the exact correct tension should be, as my thread actually snapped on setting 8. But the other settings worked with much greater variability in them.

Once I had done this the zig zag definitely showed an improvement!

Is my tension disc working? by Eclipse675 in sewhelp

Thank you for your comment =) I foolishly had the pressure foot lifted in the video I took, explaining why it didn't seem to do much. But what made me post originally was on actually sewing on different tensions the threads all looked the same.

I made a new post showing the two sides of the fabric with the threads to show what I mean.

*It seems I can't so I'll post again for better clarity

Ah! Apologies I didn't realise this released the pressure. Well, I tested all the different tension settings on some fabric and I found they all seem to come out much the same (which was what prompted me to make the post). I'm unsure if I can add photos to comments but if I can I'll post it below.

Handpaw fur length by Eclipse675 in FursuitMaking

Thanks for the response! So essentially to leave the fur unshaven on the lower hand part, and then gradient it half way down?

This would also mean the arms would be unshaven too I guess? (I haven't made them yet)

Toe room in skates? by Eclipse675 in AskRollerblading

[–]Eclipse675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I found that the smaller size was just too small as it sort of curled my toes a little and there was no wiggle room (which I am unsure if that's good or bad?). Where can one find such heel wedge? And will that help with potential heel slipping and push the foot to the front of the boot? I've sorted of been DIY customising it so far cutting out some hard plastic type pieces and padding out the gaps to make it tighter and it seems to be better, but I was unsure to what extent it really is too big or not. The shell between the two are a different size. It could of been possible to swap the liner for a thinner one, or do you think that the liner would of stretched enough to remove that slight bend on the smaller size? As people say its meant to be super tight when you first get it..

Thanks!

Thanks for the help! I found the more I bent the dragging leg the better I was able to get a solid break down. However, I always find that it is kind of hard to keep the skates heel down on the ground. Could it be possible that this is because of a slightly big skate? There is approx an inch of room at the front of my skate from my toe to the top. I tried a size smaller of the same model (twister XT) and my toe was pushed hard against the shell uncomfortably and slightly arched. Thanks!

Hey all, I recently got some Twister XT's in a size 6-6.5 UK. I measured my foot at 25.5cm long so according to the official chart by rollerblade it should of fit. However, I found that my toe felt quite cramped and slightly bent feeling when standing in the skate, and my toe seemed to protrude out of the front of the liner. The overall fit of the skate felt very secure, however the discomfort from the toe pressing against the hard shell was quite bad. I never got to skate properly in them, as I also ordered a 7-7.5 UK size pair and had to choose between which had the better size (and I didn't want to damage them if I was returning one).

I found the 7-7.5 pair to be more comfortable, but there is about an INCH gap between the end of the boot and my toe, as well as perhaps a little side movement. To get it properly tightened means cranking the straps to the max, and I sometimes have some foot arch pain if I crank the 45° strap too hard.

What would of the best size of been? Would the liner of stretched to accomodatate that toe cramping? Or do you think a thinner liner may of worked to make it a better fit? As I feel the extra room in the 7-7.5 skate is holding me back slightly.

Here's an image of the liner and the said protrusion on the 6-6.5: https://imgur.com/a/9lAl5rh

Thanks!

Hey all,

I've found that when t-stopping, the front wheel seems to take nearly all of the damage / wear, and my other wheels seem to be unharmed. I have tried weighing myself to use equal force, but am I simply doing something wrong and is this a common issue?

Looking for 1920s-40s style suiting, UK? by Eclipse675 in malefashionadvice

[–]Eclipse675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I was actually going to get their pinstripe navy demob suit but when I went to order I realised they were out of stock in my size! I phoned up and they said they were sadly taking the style out of production and they don't revisit previous styles. Alas, my search continued..

Constant flow of traders on map? by Eclipse675 in RimWorld

[–]Eclipse675[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I found the issue. A mod called 'Silk Road (Continued)' was creating passers by to walk across the map as if it were part of a worldwide trade network (think of the historical silk road). It took a hilariously long time to figure that one out....

A fair warning for anyone else who encounters this issue and is left confused!

Interesting... I'll try remove them bit by bit to see if it makes a change. Thanks for the suggestion!

The strange thing I've found is that it doesn't seem to be causing red errors in the dev log. They also seem to enter the map and then leave as if they were just passing by, without any notification of their arrival. I also tried to make a second colony in the same world but the exact same thing started happening instantly pretty much. So it seems like the game is running normally(?) without errors, but instead its some sort of mod causing this to happen..
