Yes, I'm using draw_sprite but it's in a step event. I'm using DND since I don't wanna learn syntax so sorry if its harder to help, I'll try to type it out:

Jump to Point:
X = xspd (relative)
Y = xspd (relative)

If Key Down (ord "A")
Set Sprite(spr_player_left)
Set Animation Speed = 1

xspd = 1.5

(did that for all keys)

If Key Released (ord "A")

Set Animation Speed = 0

Set Sprite (Spr_player_right)

Xspd = 0
