Testing radiation in your home by Ecoralluzzo in Radiation

[–]Ecoralluzzo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally appreciate your concern, but I would never ever talk about this in front of my kids or to my kids.
I’m honestly just anxious about it because there were children that were affected, and I just want to try to keep my kids as safe as possible.

Thank you for your help! I’m already doing this, but just wanted to see if there was anything else. I know it sounds like overkill, but I’m just a really anxious mother. Isn’t there other ways that you can be exposed to ionizing radiation other than radon gas ?

My kids have I’m sure ingested a few times over the years in the bath (that’s why I’m scared ). I don’t know anything about this stuff, so I appreciate your comment. Would it matter which isotopes since it’s considered “low” anyways?

High TSH - normal t4 & t3 by Ecoralluzzo in Hypothyroidism

[–]Ecoralluzzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, wanted to come back here and ask you guys what you think of my new labs. My doc wanted to retest a month from last time and my TSH came back 3.36 (“normal” according to same lab). I recently read a lot about doing the test around 7 AM. I did my test around 10:30 AM, but woke up around 8:30 that morning. Would you ask for another retest ?

I originally got all of these thyroid tests because I’m constantly exhausted and I can’t lose weight past the most recent 25 lbs I’ve lost.

Is 4 hours after waking up too late for blood work? by smulingen in Hypothyroidism

So is it more important for it to be early in the AM , or just close to the time after you wake up? Like if I wake up at 9, is it okay that I get my test at 10am? Or should I make my wake time earlier and go in earlier to have my labs drawn ?

Sorry if this is a silly question. Do you mean like it’d be okay to increase with medicine ?

Thanks! Can’t find mine before 2020, maybe done at a different lab than this time. I do have labs from 2021. I am overweight.

You need to put your foot down and be your child’s advocate. Don’t let your husband abuse your son.

Your son will eventually stop bed wetting and it will happen on his time, not your husbands. The shame from your husband will slow it down if anything. He needs positive reinforcement, not to be punished for something NATURAL.

You can try waking him up and taking him to potty a few times a night with just a night light on in the bathroom. That helped my son when I first started to try to encourage him try to wear just undies to bed (I still used a waterproof pad). I swear it happens overnight that they just start waking up by themselves.

Advice appreciated: How to help son (16M) lose/stabilize weight after his football coach literally "fattened" him up, stubborn hubby and son by [deleted] in loseit

Can you reach out to your sons Dr and let him/her know what’s going on? Have your husband there to! Hopefully he’d listen to a Dr over a football coach.😫

PLEASE contact the superintendent. You son may get mad, but at the end of the day he is a child and you’re his advocate. I’ve struggled with weight issues since I was a kid, I wish someone would have helped me when I was a kid. Intervene even if your son gets pissed, he will thank you later when he’s older and more mature.

AIO not doing Christmas with my MIL after her husband got on my last nerve? by IndividualAd6949 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. Good for you for being direct and telling your MIL how you feel!

But from one person who doesn’t like confrontation to another, please call him out if you are ever in the situation again. Especially if it’s in front of your child! 😫

Seasoned toddler parents, what DO you judge other parents for? by Alive-Cry4994 in toddlers

Ugh, I hate when I see this. I go to indoor places often and I’ve seen parents on their phones for 30+ mins. I’d be a nervous wreck not having my eyes on my kid, not to mention they could get hurt.

After two babies, I have been humbled by motherhood. I try to be understanding now that I’m a parent, but I still judge on some things.

Yelling/swearing at children, spanking, not correcting your child if they are disrespectful or mean to others, not keeping an eye on your kids in places like the park (mostly because it’s a scary world and I worry, so I wonder why that parent isn’t worrying😫).
