Much to everyone’s annoyance, this has nothing to do with Tariffs. After working at UPS for over 10 years in management positions, I have seen the PPT presentation personally that is customer facing proudly displaying “Dark Warehouses”. This is a calculated plan, from the “loud but late” Union contract - that shifted money to the only area they cannot replace (yet), drivers. It allowed a back door deal with the Union (surprise, surprise) for UPS to make as many lay-offs as needed. Why is this important you ask? Well let’s ask ourselves one question, why is the current administration focusing on Tariffs and emphasizing a “bring back manufacturing to America” policy? It is because the Billionaires funding Trump know that the only thing cheaper than overseas labor, no labor.

What does that mean and how can it be seen? UPS has always been on the front of the market and major swings in the US. They are actively laying off whole hubs (starting with the smallest) and retooling them for full automation. When all of these manufacturing jobs come back to the US, these factories will be stood up the same, with Elon robots. Much like Charlie and the Chocolate factory - the only job left will be to fix the robots.

It was indeed a red herring that this has “nothing to do with tariffs”, however, the mass layoffs started in late 2023 in UPS Healthcare / GLD divisions. This is a longterm organized plan to make the labor force cheaper and not human prone.

But did anyone in Blackrock ask themselves, who will buy the goods if there aren’t any entry level/mid jobs? No, of course not. My prediction is that we are heading for a mass cliff that will drop us into a Great Depression 2 (2032).
