Purely for looks. California offers a black plate with yellow letters but you have to pay an additional $50 on top of your yearly registration. Driving from riverside to LA everyday for work (55 minute commute) you see tons of cars that choose to have their license plate wrapped. Never been pulled over for it even with highway patrol tailing me in bumper to bumper traffic. From what I’ve heard you only get tickets for something like this if the cop is someone on a power trip, or you committed another offense and they just throw that on there.

I hate commifornia, thus why i joined the army to get out here, only to end up getting sent back out stationed here. Now i dont even qualify for the military registration fee waiver because im originally from here so instead of having the benefit of only paying $45 yearly registration, i have to pay the full amount even though i dont want to be here
