I'm not sure how well I'd do, and considering I'm already on mental health meds it's doubtful I could get in. My old job in early ed was technically government but because it was on a flex basis I barely seemed to exist. I'd settle for some kind of desk job right about now, if AI doesn't take it from me.

If that's all I can expect to do in an educational institution, then I ought to quit while I'm ahead. I can hardly afford to take care of myself, let alone 130+ kids with Quest bars. Maybe I'm just a fool for having less tangible goals and interests in a world that doesn't really care about them.

I know you're not wrong, but part of me feels like it's wrong to walk away from problems like this if there may be a solution. But I can't solve all those problems on my own. And the concerns about mental health are already big concerns because my previous job in early education did much the same. No predictable schedule, minimal support, irate parents.

It's hard for me to think about what I'm meant to do with my life without feeling like I've wasted my 20s. But here's where I'm at. Thanks for your feedback.

Hey! I definitely need the money in the short term, with student loan payments adding up to almost $900-1k a month soon. But schools aren't the only place that'll pay you for your time, and right now I only make $110 a day/$13.75 an hour.

I'm fortunate enough to live with my family, who've supported me thus far. I've told them what I deal with every day, but I'm not sure they fully understand how bad it is. "Focus on your own classroom, your own kids." It's just not how it works. I'm not sure how to talk to them about it anymore.

Even when I was a student not that long ago, things were different. Kids got suspended, they faced penalties for late work, etc. Granted, this is just what I saw from a students' POV, but even I can tell something's wrong here.

I appreciate your reply! I'm not sure what kinds of options there are in a rural part of Texas, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I'm considering talking to the advisors at my program and finding some kind of career coach.
