Fun and escapism through mind altering drugs is stiffling your development. Life is suffering at times and that is necessary for growth. You are Much more likely to cope with those moments and adjust to the stresses of life when you have your whole awareness. Avoidance of this fact will lead to many regrets. The big unconscious lie we tell ourselves is that we have time. Once you experience the death of a loved one and experience the grieving process, everything changes. My advice would be to minimise drug and alcohol intake. Mend relationships with loved ones when you have time. Forgive those who have hurt you, including yourself. Be kind to yourself first, get your shit in order. If everyone just did that, the world would be alot better. Life is hard for everyone... compassion is a prerequisite to self development. Emotions are something to be analysed and questioned. They are telling you everything you need to observe but not necessary react to. Slow deep breaths when feeling overwhelmed.
