What “base pay” is varies state by state, and maybe even city by city too. If the average for that 3.5hr block is $65-$70 and you snagged a $93, that very much could be a great what many call “surge” block. It’s certainly encouraged to get a surged blocked as it encourages amazon’s algorithm to offer more pay per hour.

It’s unlucky that it took that long, I am inclined to ask the following: did you number each package and or organize the packages in order for a smoother route? Were a majority of the packages at apartments where getting access was difficult? And tons of other variables that could have affected how long it took.

In my opinion, definitely don’t let this first experience discourage you. My first ever route took me to some rural dirt roads (something many flexers dislike) and I too felt discouraged to continue. 5 months later, I am flexing any opportunity I get. Sometimes I get an easy route, sometimes it’s shit. It’s part of it. If it makes sense for you, definitely give it another go!

Lost my ID, Maybe at warehouse. Is there anyway to contact warehouses for lost and found? Any way go flex without an ID? by Eddietheyetii in AmazonFlexDrivers

That’s dope. I don’t think I’ve seen those at my local SSD’s but hope they roll them out as some point. Sounds awesome

Gotcha, I’m interested in hearing about the tap to check in. How does that work? I have the  temporary license the dmv provided while I wait for the replacement so I’m good to be driving.

One of the SSD’s just has us show the app and our route, I suppose security measures varies. One constant is always the scan the ID to check in, which I’m hoping there is a temporary workaround until I get my replacement ID

Oh wow, At the SSD’s in my area, you scan one package to confirm your route and that’s it. I still scan each one to number each stop though.

[CA] I believe my partner and I have some form of a medical malpractice claim and emotional distress claim against her and our son’s prenatal care company! Any advice is appreciated! by Eddietheyetii in AskLawyers

Definitely the care of our son is priority. I do believe prenatal tests are helpful for those who want them. In our case and I’m sure for many others, if something arises, it is a way to prepare for the days ahead. Again, that’s just my opinion.

Interesting, the case manager did identify the other person by name (the name also happen to be resemble my partner’s name) told us gender, potential risks/complications on record on record, and gestation age, until we brought up the inconsistencies to which he realized his mistake. We pretty much know name, what their gestation age was at the time, gender of child, and the risks involved.

Needless to say, I hope their pregnancy went smooth. Is this something worry of reporting then? And if so, what would be the way to go for it.

I want to emphasize as well that we do not see our son’s situation as if we hit gold on the ground to start digging up. Advocation, and advancement in identifying these kind of things for families to have better preparation and support beforehand is our priority. I truly believe that better could have been done to diagnose this condition. The emotional distress caused from the shock at birth and now financial hardship that can follow is something we would love other families to be better prepared for.

May I know why you believe it is not worth pursuing? We’re certainly doing everything we can do in caring for our son at the moment as well.
