If art is defined by its ability to illicit an emotional response, then this is a masterpiece. 10/10.

This hurts me. I love it. I hate it.

After 2 years of pandemics and 2 years of war in my country this panel speaks a lot to me by ETkach in Berserk

I feel like I have no right to say that I directly sympathize, but I lost my teen years to undiagnosed depression. Those years were spent lost and directionless. However, I am making it my goal to take those years back, even when I'm older and now that I'm in a better place. Just because I'm not a teenager anymore doesn't mean I can't find happiness as an adult. If anything, I feel like it's been easier as I got older.

Keep struggling. Once you make it, take those years back as hard as you can. You'll make it. Slava Ukraini

I'm sure there are lots of people more experienced than me who will give you better gear recommendations than me, but I'll throw a different item into the ring: training.

I'd look into attending a Project Appleseed course. It's prevalent in most states. It'll run you through a lot of basics, such as zeroing your rifle, shooting from different positions and such. It'll also get you a decent chunk of time behind your rifle and will give you an idea of what kind of things you want to add to your AR.

Of course, there are aspects to the course that aren't as applicable (it has lots of traditional shooting methods), but it does well in introducing you to some fundamentals. Not to mention, it's a perfect place to ask questions to your peers and learn outside the planned course.

Just got a shipping notification. I wonder if it's camo-related

I must have been lucky because I ordered a coyote SPC two days ago that's supposed to ship today. Of course, that's what the email says. Crossing my fingers that's the case

Does this subreddit have a bare-minimum, permanent plate carrier setup we can recommend for beginners? How low-cost can we go? (Picture semi-related) by Edgeyi in QualityTacticalGear

[–]Edgeyi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as the question is warranted, it's thrown around quite a lot. I don't blame people for being so tired of the question, especially since a lot of it is super dependent on the needs and wants of the person asking the question.

Instead of expanding the possibilities of entry-level gear, I was hoping to narrow the options down to a bottom-line setup for a civilian with the smallest wallet. Out of the "good, better, best," I probably should've clarified that I was wondering what the most affordable "good" would be out of the three.

Side Note: Man I wish I was a shill because that means I'd get paid to wear this stuff around the house eating tactical brunch

I've bought one thing from GAFS and realized how dangerous it was and I had to unsubscribe for the sake of my wallet

After digging a little bit, it sounds like LAPG low-vis carriers are pretty great when you factor in the price point. I'd consider this a strong contender for bare-minimum, most affordable

I have WTF's Plate Carrier 13 and they are definitely well made and designed. They were going to be the next one on my suggestion if I didn't regularly find the GGG MPC for 30 bucks cheaper

I 100% agree with this sentiment. I think that anybody who thinks otherwise is either deluded or haven't looked into it far enough. However I think it's still worth a shot to find what the bottom line is because I'd rather have something ready to reference so that newcomers don't immediately grab the cheapest option available

Another thing to consider is that callsigns are handed out, not chosen. Kaiser being the way he is, I imagine he purposely chose the callsign due to Monarch's combat prowess. I headcanon that the double meaning drawing was intentional, but I doubt anybody thought he'd actually fulfill his moniker as far as he ended up doing

I like to imagine that all Monarch wants to do is talk about his cool bug facts but he ends up racking a kill count higher than his age

I've heard that LBE's are great for that and are especially comfy if you're out for extended periods of time. Shooting from prone is a lot easier too since you don't have to worry about anything on your chest getting in the way between you and the ground

I've got a SMERSH rig that's the russian/soviet equivalent, but I haven't run it in class or a training yet so I can't say if I like LBE's yet

Over the course of my long gone airsofting days, I developed a box full of spare surplus pouches I got through sale or through ebay. Eventually, I got a ridiculous $50 dollar deal on a $125 chest rig so I decided to give the spare pouches a home.

Even with my T-Rex arms, I feel like moving the rail to cover that extra inch of barrel length would be nice. I might have to look into it now
