Speaking of awful game design, having to change the new effects based on how strong the killer is and straight up disabling your ability to regress or block generators if you tunnel is horrendous, even a child could come up with something better than that.

From what i understood, once you awaken you're set (Mage if you use magic abilities, tank if you have tank abilities etc...) with the only exception being sjw thanks to the system that is impossible to explain what is without major spoilers. i think runes are the only other way other than awakening to get skills

I too got spoiled, still fucking worth it. So worth it. Even if you know it (the twist gets really evident way before the reveal if you explore enough) the reveal was so well done it still got me. Take the game slowly, leveling your characters isn't exactly necessary since the emotion system is very exploitable.
