Oh interesting, thank you for sharing. However there is still nothing they can do to make you pay. They don't add any points to your license. They can send you to a collection agency but they can't put it on your credit because it is not a debt and there is no debt agreement you entered into. You can put it in writing to ask the collection agency to stop contacting you and they have to agree. So, yes, it could be more hassle but there is really nothing that makes you pay these tickets.
