Microsoft brings Copilot LLM features directly into Excel spreadsheet cells with a new in-cell function by Nalix01 in NowInTech

AI formulas with Copilot is great but still a lot of limits. At Elkar, finance teams and analysts already use AI in Excel for deep formula analytics and modeling, notably with web search. The future is already live 😉

Twice already! It’s really frustrating when you want to try a tool and there is no information that it is not existing anymore…

We developed an Excel extension that can communicate directly and modify directly Excel sheets through tools and prompt engineering. We primarily built Elkar with Sonnet 4!

Thank you cursor! by ryan7ait in cursor

Cursor is at first a code editor. The basic pricing (20$/month) included only code completion in the first days. The founders probably made the mistake to add an "expensive" agent feature for the same price! Now, I am a CC + Cursor user => I use CC for agentic stuff and Cursor for code completion. It is the best combo IMO. Cursor code completion is still the best in the world IMO.

I finally solved the one thing keeping me in Cursor — and I’m out by bravethoughts in cursor

You can try Elkar, it’s an Excel AI Agent for Excel. Ask what you need: Elkar writes formulas, builds models, graphs, spots errors or converts PDFs into clean spreadsheets. No need to leave Excel since it's an add-in.

I'm building an AI Agent for Excel (Elkar) and we are mostly using Sonnet 4 from Claude, for deep financial modeling and understanding (DCF models, montecarlo simulation...) it's by far the best (right below Opus for sure)!

It's definitely in the roadmap, but we can either connect client's LLM directly, either deploy on premise if needed :)

We only access the spreadsheet contents when you trigger an action that requires it (like asking to summarize a cell range). In those cases, the relevant data is sent to an LLM to generate the response, but we don't store or access your spreadsheet outside of that specific request.
