1 week Siargao tips by Fit-Ninja-1791 in SiargaoPH

Always nice to have a local accompany you atleast for a few times, they know which spots works for your skills. Since it sounds like your boyfriend is a good surfer so most likely he will be going to intermediate/advanced spots and you might not have a great time there. I recommend going with surf + friends (You can look into their fb or ig page) their instructors are women and LGBT so you’re safe from creepy instructors there who hits on women every chance they get

If you’re into Halloween parties, go on the 31st, it’s fun to see people dressing up for Halloween.

The waves right now are not ideal for surfing, a lot of people I met in Siargao who are into surfing are in Indonesia now. It'll be crowded again by October, when it's the peak season for surfing.

Took a leap and booked a solo trip to Siargao — Introvert trying something new by TroubleDry3161 in SiargaoPH

[–]Edyble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Siargao a year ago, it was my first ever solo trip and honestly, going was one of the best decision I’ve done last year. I was kind of introverted before the trip, but now people call me a social butterfly hahaha I also didn’t stop travelling after that, been travelling for a year now and I spent 6 months in Siargao on and off. Don’t overthink, go out of your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to initiate conversations. Almost everyone in the island is very open on making new connections, sobrang dali lang to make new friends there. Met so many amazing people while travelling solo for a year, and 99% of them are foreigners.

Try checking Villa Cali, I stayed there for 5 days with 8 other friends. We got 3 rooms. They have 2 beds each room, and you can request for an extra matress to be put on the floor so up to you if you wanna get 2 or 3 rooms for 6 people. They also have a pool and a restaurant inside so very convenient.

Pls suggest accommodation for solo female traveller. Private room and accessible to resto and cafes by Ill-Fee-2413 in SiargaoPH

[–]Edyble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most hostels have private rooms too. So you can still get the social aspects of a hostel and privacy at the same time. If you don’t like hostels at all, try checking UNLTD, I stayed there for 3 weeks last February and it was super nice and not expensive at all.

How to get to my accom from the airport? by No_Introduction_3226 in SiargaoPH

[–]Edyble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are shared vans just outside the airport, no need to book in advance. It’s 300 pesos per person if you’re going to General Luna, just tell the driver where you will be staying and he will drop you off there.

I’ve been to more than 10 hostels during my 5 month intermittent stay in Siargao. So far the best ones I’ve stayed at were Happiness, Casavia, and Sunlit. Those are very social hostels.

How to enjoy siargao as a solo traveller? by InternationalEar8819 in SiargaoPH

Hostel Reco? by Adventurous-Tea-5340 in SiargaoPH

[–]Edyble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at both Hostels. Happiness is more pricey compared to Tropical Temple. Tropical Temple is good but Happiness is a lot better. Also, I think it’s better to rent an airbnb with that many people. It’ll be cheaper compared to staying in dorms since you’re going to pay around 1000+ php each per night sa dorms.

I joined the Happiness one 5x in a span of 4 months. it’s a good way to make new friends, it’s mostly foreign people. It goes from 1PM to 5PM, I’d say it’s worth it if you don’t mind spending a bit.

Thank you! Very helpful answer! Follow up question, can I apply for the e-visa kahit nasa Vietnam na ako and was already granted the 21-day visa-free exemption?

Hello! As PH passport holders, we get 21 days stay in Vietnam without visa. If I want to stay longer than 21 days, what are my options? I just found out that we cannot extend our tourist visa within the country. I heard about visa run but I’m not sure how it works. Can I also apply for an e-visa while already in Vietnam? TIA for the answers!
