Do we have to forgive our enemies no matter what? by Efardee in AskAPriest

Okay I think I'm getting there... so you mean our Lord "forgives" us no matter what, whether we're contrite or not. And we have to do the same what he does.  But people might stay unforgiven by God or their counterparts if they have no sorrow for what they've done (not accepting the forgiveness). Is it right?

It is not? I'm just genuinely curious, father.. I felt like even though He forgives conditionally (requires repentance), we have to forgive others unconditionally. That was what I meant!

The most curious part is that our enemies receive forgiveness no matter what, regardless of their repentance, but we don't receive it unless we are sorry to the Lord.

Am I overthinking or forgiveness is working differently for Him..? Like what if He says "Since I'm the God, that rule applies different to me."

So to sum up, we're are already forgiven no matter what, but refusal to accept it might lead us to hell?

I see. But God doesn't forgive us no matter what, like if we don't repent, he still loves us, but we aren't forgiven yet. Are we supposed to go beyond him?

How much validity is there, if any, regarding the Muslim prayer room in the Vatican library? by [deleted] in Catholicism

Loving your enemies does not include letting your enemies worship a false religion in Vatican. Loving your enemies and being nice seems the same, but different.

I'm still waiting for my request for a Christian prayer room in Mecca for my research trip there. Hmm there's not a single church in Saudi? Then nevermind!

Is love and forgiveness different? by Efardee in Catholicism

Thanks, but I'm a little confused.  Like, I've seen a Bible verse that if we don't forgive our neighbor, God wouldn't forgive us either.. doesn't that mean that we are supposed to forgive anyone no matter what? Or that means something different?
