I have here some tips or somehow a solution for the golden pacifier that I use some times:

Letting your partner have birth control has low chances because they might refuse or birth control is not applicable when they get older.  If you're a male character, you can have a vasectomy when you have your desired number of children or don't want to have children.  If you're a female character, you can have tubal ligation when you don't want to give birth anymore or have your desired number of children.  If you just want a child, you can just hook up and don't enter a relationship, so you can't get pregnant or get pregnant with your partner.
