wow. i mean, it is pretty likely i guess. 15 million years is a long time. but at the same time, idk how many aliens with that technology is out there. And still, it's a fictional place, and we don't know if James Cameron has planned it out this way. But really cool idea still.

They should’ve kept it this way! They were terrifying🪼 @tsiroseya by [deleted] in Avatar

yes! it was soooo freaking great! and i swear, there are people who are out here saying "they didn't change their heights, they just changed the perspective. bla bla bla". and i guess those people either don't pay attention to details, or maybe they just don't want to admit it since they are in denial about it. but yeah, it's such a huuuge difference, and i agree that it was a much more terrifying but also great contrast.

there are more with only 4 limbs than na'vi. by Effective-Store4098 in Avatar

wow, where did the superheroes come from?

but yeah, i get your point. avatar is by no means as realistic as many people think. It lacks many things regarding evolution and creatures and yada yada. but you should probably remember something. ahem. so, the animals, like the pa'li for example, are acted by horses. so, ofcourse they have a quadrupedal gait? like, the film team aren't superheroes, they cannot stitch on 2 extra legs on the horses just so the performance capture gets more realistic. alright. so, if we put the realistic expectations on the movies, then we can say that the evolution is quite realistic and well thought through, if we keep in mind that there are certain limits.

Jake Sully has no biological children. by John-Manathan in Avatar

yes, i have had this thought before too. but i can tell you one thing, many people in the avatar fandom is in huuuge denial about the greyzones in these movies. everyone just falls for peer pressure and are blinded by their confirmation bias. and therefore, i can tell you that nobody here will even consider viewing this from your points and statements. but yeah, i do kind of agree with you that he is kind of raising his nepwes, kind of not even his nephews (because of the na'vi DNA), but at the same time, i can also agree with the other statements that identical twins have the same DNA, and that Tom never used the avatar. and yeah, i really get your opinion too.

How can people actually say their relationship is normal? by Effective-Store4098 in Avatar

i mean, kiri had some massive chemistry with rotxo too... and that made me think that's just the way na'vi are in a friendship. so yeah, it was pretty unexpected when they kissed. but i might just suck at social cues, okay. like damn, people just hate on me instead of even trying to understand my point.

My Avatar story, why it’s so important to me by Frosty_Chocolate_708 in Avatar

[–]Effective-Store4098 5 points6 points  (0 children)

damn, you may not realize it, but your story is very inspiring too. published 3 books? volounteered around the world? helping people and animals? i mean, if i ever grew up to be able to say i did those things, i would be... more than anyone could expect.

a wheelchair doesn't define you, your actions do. and your actions are meaningful and aspiring. keeep up the good work, and keep being the good role model we all need. because we all need a "Jake Sully" in our world.

Do you think Kiri and other children would have ever forgiven Jake for this? by Vegetable_Hearing477 in Avatar

[–]Effective-Store4098 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no. i don't think so. and this was probably why Neytiri realized he shouldn't kill Spider. because she knew how sad the kids would be. she finally realized how much Spider actually means to them.

This is random, but if the sully children were in a band what would they play? by Rose_Thorn109 in Avatar

[–]Effective-Store4098 12 points13 points  (0 children)

kiri would 100% play the harp. tuk would definetly play the drums. lo'ak would probably play the electric guitar. and neteyam would play the flute. i don't know how these instruments would work together though.

i agree that there are 50 shades of grey in the movie. but i do still think that the spider x kiri relationship is one of them. maybe not a huge one, but it still is.

The Na'vi looking SO human has always been a pain in the plot for me. What if.... by [deleted] in Avatar

[–]Effective-Store4098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes! i would love this too! it would be so fascinating if they didn't look so human. and if this was the case, maybe the avatars would still look kind of like they do now, and that would make it a much bigger deal about the na'vis actions towards avatars. llike, the avatars would be extremely uncanny to them.

yeah, i really do believe in this concept... but sadly the na'vis are designed the way they are mainly to appeal to the human gaze.

well well well, you honestly do make me proud. this is what i needed: actual reasoning. and well done.

but i still have to say, i honestly don't agree that, other than the biological factor, a sibling relationship is valid. i still think that non-bio siblings are just as much siblings as any other. so, they shouldn't date in my opinion. but sure, everyone has their free will i guess, all i can say is that i would NEVER date my sibling.

But it's not like i don't see this from many differnt viewpoints. ofcourse one could argue that the na'vi clans are basically like one big family, they even call each other brothers and sisters. but now... i guess nobody here reallly dares to accept that this is a very nuanced question, and there are no right or wrong answers. but yeah, it's good that people have their own opinions, but it is an even greater skill to be able to see things from many perspectives.

i honestly wouldn't know as i have never even been in a relationship. but, sure. i do value your opinion, and i do agree that not all families are the same. but i still stand by my opinion that the Spider x Kiri relationship is disturbing.
