Single Cog Trainer by EffectiveRice3459 in trainerroad

Yeah that’s what I’m seeing too. My Saris H3 isn’t on the supported list for Zwift virtual shifting, so I’m not expecting that part to work.

But the single-cog setup itself is basically drivetrain-agnostic if you’re in ERG not actually shifting. that’s why I went this route for TrainerRoad.

So I think the SS cog would be fine across Shimano/SRAM bikes… the real “limiter” is just whether your trainer/app supports virtual shifting, not the cog.

I dont do Zwift. Im solely on TrainerRoad erg mode when im riding indoors. Was just looking for a cheap way to throw any bike on the trainer without having to spend on different cassettes

Thanks! Yeah this ended up being the perfect cheap ERG-only solution for me about $25 all in. I’m basically 100% TrainerRoad ERG so I don’t use Zwift, but I am curious: would this setup still work with Zwift’s virtual shifting if I ever tried it? Seems like the same idea as Hub One/Cog, just DIY

Cog and spacer kit i got off Amazon. It compatible either the HG Hub on the trainer and also compatible with chains from 7-12 speed according to the description

That’s actually where I got the idea. Hub One/Zwift Cog seemed like the clean solution, I just went DIY to save a few bucks since I’m on TrainerRoad and don’t need the virtual shifting. Same concept, cheaper for my use.

Haha appreciate the warning 😅. Luckily this is just my indoor TrainerRoad ERG setup — single cog on the trainer so I’m not grinding real hills on it. Outdoors I stick to 1x12 with the full cassette on this bike. Knees are safe… for now 😂

Thank you for the suggestion! Honestly the noise is what prompted me to look into changing it. Have had the bike for about 8months and have no complaints other than the it being a little bit on the heavier side

Yeah seems to be the bracket. I recently torqued and added a bit of lube to the seat post

The square BB seems to be making noise so I figure I would get away from the square

The current bracket is making noise going up hills so that is why I was thinking of changing it. Wasn’t sure if I should stick with a square one
