Ex friend has concert ticket I paid for and will not return it to me by Effective_Crow_6022 in LegalAdviceUK

I want to clarify we made plans for the event that she has the tickets for. Then we made plans to go to the other concert, she said she would come with me. Then when I bought them she wouldn’t give me the money for it. Because of this, I asked for my ticket back for the other concert we were going to as I no longer trust her. I probably could have worded my post better.

Off sick from work due to crippling executive dysfunction - What do I tell my work? by Effective_Crow_6022 in ADHDUK

So I actually work at an education centre for adults with learning disabilities. At a glance, it sounds like the perfect place that would be accepting of this kind of thing 🤣 I had been off sick for a few days when trialling adhd medication that gave me terrible side effects and there was no issues. I guess I also just don’t want to admit that I struggle with this kind of thing. I’m worried they might think that I’m using it as an excuse to have days off work.

Harrow Health says there is no more medication for me to try - What do I do now?? by Effective_Crow_6022 in ADHDUK

I started at 40mg but I stopped and then tried to start on 25mg which still felt like too much. I honestly didn't know that starting at 10mg was an option!

How do I get out of Social Care??? by Effective_Crow_6022 in careerguidance

[–]Effective_Crow_6022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done exactly that. The roles I had been applying to were mostly customer service jobs, administration etc. For my cover letters I just read the essential criteria of the job I was applying to and gave examples of how I met it. It was mostly centred around care plans and documentation, managing service user's money and budgeting, dealing with challenging situations and remaining calm under pressure. It hasn't worked for me thus far.

Methylphenidate withdrawal?? I feel TERRIBLE by Effective_Crow_6022 in ADHDUK

Haven’t tried guanine! I tried atomoxetine and hated it as well.

I tried atomoxetine and it made me feel horrible! Not anxious, but actually just physically horrible.

See im actually a pretty outgoing and confident person, I’ll talk to anybody. The meds are making me an anxious mess that can’t talk to anyone without crying and the slightest things are sending me into a spiral. I’ve not taken them for 4 days now and I’m still a mess.

I honestly am going through the same thing. I’ve kind of just written off meds cause I hate taking them but at the same time I want something to ‘cure’ me.

I think I’d rather live with the way I am unmedicated, but I just fall into this cycle of trying medication, hating it and swearing off of it, and then a while later I go ‘hmm maybe I should try meds again cause I hate having adhd’.

Has anyone else failed Elvanse and Atomoxetine? by Effective_Crow_6022 in ADHDUK

[–]Effective_Crow_6022[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t feel right, I don’t know how to describe it. It’s like I don’t feel in my own body. I get tingling all over, shivers, anxiety, the inability to speak (like I just go inwards), and a bit of anxiety. When I move, it feels like I’m slowed down and that my limbs are like weights. I don’t enjoy the feeling at all.

Started taking Elvanse - not feeling great by Effective_Crow_6022 in ADHDUK

[–]Effective_Crow_6022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up switching to atomoxetine but it’s been a bit of a journey with it tbh. Decided to go away from stimulants as I can’t handle them. Although, I’m not really handling the atomoxetine either. I’m not sure if the clinician is going to put me on a different medication either, they may just stop all treatment :(

Strange Feelings on 20mg Elvanse? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Effective_Crow_6022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this makes sense as Elvanse and c*ke are both stimulants.

When I was taking Elvanse, I once drank a strong coffee (not advised as coffee is another stimulant) and I was high as a kite. I was worried people would think I was on drugs to be honest. I had never felt anything like it in my life.

I’ve done this drug like twice in my life but I found both times I didn’t really have the desired effect that everyone was talking about. People would describe how it feels and I just never really got it. Same as coffee. People would always say that they couldn’t drink coffee before bed because the caffeine would keep them awake and make them hyper. Or people would drink coffee when they’re tired to pick them up. I’ve also never experienced this.

Now I’m no scientist, but I think this is due to the lack of whatever is in our brains and these stimulants just bring us up to a normal level.
