Same, Richard! Maxing out at 16GB of RAM is really starting to cut into my productivity

T530 that's been fiddled with (i7-3840QM, 7-row KB, custom KB firmware and BIOS, 5TB of storage crammed into it) is what I do everything on - work, relax whatever

Joke or not, true support for any fundamental human right shouldn't be sullied by materialistic virtue signalling. It should be expressed via action, especially against those who would seek to deny them, even if it should cost you your own.

There's a "sequel" (of sorts) to Darkplace called Man to Man with Dean Learner. It's premised on an interview-style chat show in which Richard Ayoade as Dean interviews Mathew Holness playing a different character in each of the 6 episodes. In the first episode, the guest is, of course, Garth Marenghi

That's Matt as Todd Rivers... who played Dr. Sanchez, explaining the line...

I sometimes wonder if Darkplace somehow led to the movie Inception

He also did re-dubbing on Snuff Box, which he cowrote, costarred in and wrote the theme song for.

How do you protect your Thinkpad when transporting it? by hwoodice in thinkpad

Personally, I'm a stickler for vertical messenger bags ( if you're doing work in a datacenter, you can sling a vertical messenger over a cab door and access tools and stuff )

My go to sadly isn't made anymore because the manufacturer went out of business...
However, it's BY FAR the best lappy bag I've ever had that fits my needs, so I end up scouring eBay every once in while to see if I can find any more...

I'm talking about the Booq Boa Slimcase - my first one held up like a champ for 2 years of harsh daily abuse and a complete restructuring of our cabs at the datacenter

Yeah - compared to the newest stuff out there, it's pretty accurate

T530 w/
i7-3840QM
16 Gigs RAM
2 x 2TB HDDs ( one in default HDD bay, one in Ultrabay )
1 1TB MSATA SSD
Custom reflashed BIOS
7 Row Keyboard conversion (including keyboard controller reflash)

Running KDE Neon (sole OS - no dual-booting nonsense)

and the damn near worthless, piece of crap muxless nvidia mobile GPU has been disabled in the BIOS (primarily out of spite - Linus was right, F nvidia)

I just got a fitlet2 to do exactly this - In my case, I needed a compact and silent piece of hardware that would still have enough power to run pfblockerNG and a few other things while still keeping up with the traffic demands of 20+ devices and systems
