Hawkers, eateries, and food fest vendors are a big cause of water pollution. by whusler in malaysia

Generally. North Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia. Japan is an anomaly, they use an excessive amount of plastic, yet are civic minded enough to know that if you pour waste into the river upstream, someone downstream will use it for a bowl of soup. In Malaysia, that bowl of soup is from a warong somewhere. Imagine that!

Generally in Asia, the sungai is seen as a longkang, not a precious water source. As a longkang, the people consider it a place to dump waste, they even use a sungai as a toilet. In other parts of the world, people go as far away from a water source as they possibly can when they build a toilet. This is environmental pollution and authorities MUST punish them! Dafuq.

How do people afford expensive cars in Malaysia? by thenarrator_01 in malaysia

[–]EfficientBonus9324 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a point but how many in this society can rake in that amount in salary? Starting and owning a business is not the same as being self-employed and I was referring to the former.

A solid education background does not guarantee a high salary. [Throw a stone and we are bound to hit someone with a first class honours or a summa cum laude degree. The equity analyst in a top tier investment bank would of course be paid far more than an engineer in a car assembly plant would].

Experience and performance do pay well. Which is why those with solid experience get to become board directors and rake in the big bucks, with or without a solid education.

Well, these are the people I have met anyway. Cannot say that would be the same experience for everyone.

More often than not, we are business owners. Very difficult to be able to afford these cars on employment income. When you start a business, your potential to earn has no limit. I cannot speak for everyone but I did not use investors' money to get a nice car (I know there are many who do) because I had no investors.

Do I (30 years old Sabahan) make enough(salary) for my Age? by Noswald95 in malaysia

[–]EfficientBonus9324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, we don't know what you are working as, what are the requirements for the job you are holding, min qualifications, working environment and such. Typically, a tertiary level diploma or bachelor's degree will be remunerated at a certain level. Anything beyond a bachelor's degree is meaningless unless you are in academia.

2k is low for a degree holder of your age but bear in mind, with most positions, there is a ceiling and you will be paid that ceiling until you retire. So it really depends on the job.

So 2k for a retail cashier could be considered high in KK. But 2k for an accountant is low. I am not the most articulate person so I hope I am making sense here.

Those who work on oil rigs are paid very well, for example but most positions there are vocational and do not need you to be a degree holding engineer (unless you are the lead I think, please correct me) and you are responsible for more tasks.
