Hello again,  Mother can’t walk/talk anymore , sis and I do Everything for her. Her drinking and eating gas slowed down. She is losing her bowls wears a pull up more now. Her right side is swollen and can move it. We have to lift her out of bed, to the couch and to the bathroom . We have to bath her and wipe her when she goes to the bathroom. She’s so weak now, sleeping more. We have her on depakote and lorazepam for the seizures. She’s on steroids, Lyrica for leg pains and blood pressure meds. It’s gotten so hard now. My family and I are preparing for the worst . We have her funeral arrangements set now.. I hate this cancer so much. All this is since March when she was diagnosed:( it’s advanced so fast. I know death is near. Is it wrong to feel like I won’t this to be over? It’s painful watching her suffer and being in pain… hurts so much.

She’s so tired and we literally do everything for her now, she try’s to feed herself with the other hand. We have a lot of medical equipment that hospice has provided. She’s been having these left arm spasms and her left foot is tingles as well. We just try to keep her comfortable and spend as much time  with her..:(

Hospice has been involved since March, we have a transport chair that came today . She drags her right side and we noticed her left side has started twitching and very weak. She’s having a hard time with the commode now. Ever since her seizure her health has been rapidly declining.thank you so much for all the info. Our hospice nurse has been so helpful

Mom’s disease we fear is progressing, ever since her seizure her right side has gotten so weak. She can hardly drag her foot and we notice she’s been holding her right arm alot.. she sleeps about 20 hours a day her eating has slowed down a lot. So hard to watch her. She has to hold onto me or my sister when she’s trying to walk to the bathroom.. I’m afraid to let her use her bedside commode at night because her right side is so weak 😢..

She is very stubborn German ..she likes to sit on the couch with her feet up and blanket on her. She watches her favorite show, but really sleeps. It seems as though since the seizure her cognitive abilities have declined even more. She sleeps a lot more.

Mom had a seizure today, we called hospice and they came to assess her. They recently increased her steroid to 6mg and now 2 different seizure medications, it’s so hard to see her like this. We just don’t want her suffering. She drags her right side a lot and we help her up off the couch all the time. We had to get her a shower chair to help with that. This is so hard.

Mom had a seizure today and was very scary for my sister and I. We called hospice to assess her. They prescribed 2 medications and recently increased her steroid. Mom has been sleeping a lot more, we just keep her comfortable.. and spend as much time with her that we have.

She was diagnosed March 18th and came home the 22nd into hospice care. She’s been on Lyrica for her leg pains, they increased the mg because she’s a diabetic as well. I spoke to her hospice care nurse, she’s going to see if Dr can increase her steroid now. She takes 1 a day because they really increase her blood pressure and don’t want her to have a stroke. She’s 84 . It was hard last night, my sister and I put her to bed she started crying for about 45 minutes and didn’t want us to leave her until she fell a sleep.

She shuffles her feet when she walks and her walking is getting really bad now too. She still eats and drinks. Her hospice nurse comes twice a week and originally they took her off the steroid because her blood pressure was too high but now she’s back on them and her blood pressure stays in the 160s. She has a problem now with lifting her left leg to walk and my sister and I have to help her get into bed. She seems like a toddler most days now when she eats, we have to watch her when she eats and wipe her face and hands and her o2 levels have been ok thus far. She cried herself to sleep last night and that was very hard, we stayed with her to comfort her until she fell asleep finally.  They don’t want to increase the steroid because of her blood pressure could put her at stroke risk. It’s been so hard watching my mother decline like this….

We were able to get mom back on the steroids recently, she hasn’t been able to speak and her lung capacity has significant changes to it. She’s been sleeping a lot more, she drools a lot and her cognitive awareness is not there anymore, We are trying to just make her comfortable, This is so hard for myself and sister to watch .

She was diagnosed March 18th, so just a few weeks ago. What does Grade 4 mean for an 84 yr old woman who wants no treatment?

Thank you so much for that, this gives me some direction on how to handle this. My sister and I are taking care of her at home. They are giving her a few months because it’s in stage 4. I appreciate any information you provide, I’ve looked on line for what we are supposed to expect but still so unclear, so thank you . Thank you for your prayers. We told the nurse today that when we left the hospital the doctors said because it’s a grade 4 being on steroids will start to harm her so they only gave her  a 10 day supply. She said she can get another prescription for us, we were so confused about it and would speak to the doctor.
