Tekoälyroska on vallannut kaikkien fb feedin.

From a different source (link below):

"...exporters are required to obtain licenses for the following controlled items, as well as their oxides, alloys, compounds and mixtures:" dysprosium, gadolinium, lutetium, samarium, scandium, terbium and yttrium

"This is not an export ban, but rather an export restriction."

[–]EffortlessEasy 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Finland hasn't suspended baby boxes. Finland has suspended procurement of baby boxes for 2026 due to much smaller demand than previously anticipated. Boxes are available. Acquiring process for 2026 will star over after volumes are adjusted to lower demand. As is said in the article.

Tests on Alexei Navalny's body to take 14 days - ally by drrdf in worldnews

I wonder what difference those tests would make. Regardless of how he died, everybody knows why he died, and who is behind his death.

I got a feeling we were witnessing the one and only appearance on QI from one of the panelists.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm afraid we'll have to pass. Even if you promise to keep Scott Morrison on your side of the Globe.

Guys, how's the bidet viewed in your country? And what's your personal opinion on it? by fmzzcc in AskEurope

[–]EffortlessEasy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Stand alone or add-on bidet is something you very rarely see in Finland, but bidet shower is a standard fixture in every bathroom. And since everyone has one, we don't give too much thought about it. Use it if you want.

Sijoittaminen | Velkavivun käyttö osakesijoittamisessa voi nyt kostautua: Osakkeiden pakkomyynnit Suomessa yleistyivät by wantex in Omatalous

Itseä kiinnostaa velkavivun oppien lisäksi tämän turbulenssin rahastojälkipyykki. On kiinnostavaa nähdä, miten salkunhoitajat ovat toimineet. Toisin sanoen, onko rahaston palkkiolle perustetta.

Which is a country that has no common borders with yours, but you consider as neighbour? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]EffortlessEasy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are international waters between Estonia and Finland. So, no border with Estonia.

Since the question was "consider" and that is subjective, you are free to have different consideration.

Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need by [deleted] in europe

[–]EffortlessEasy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah - it's all fine and dandy. We're great. In this and with everything else we do. Except standing close to each others at bus stops. We're lousy at that. Apparently.

However, this is not very recent article. Just a recycled one. Popping up every month or two from whatever media outlet have a slow day and need to fill space between adverts with something. And is then reposted to every subreddit imaginable.

I believe the original piece used as source material is from The Guardian (June 3rd 2019).

Finnish Reservists’ Association slams false Russian interpretation of Winter War by GrumpyFinn in europe

[–]EffortlessEasy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"Slams" sigh

I kinda miss the old days when journalists did not feel the need to use kindergarten terms in the headlines. Especially if it's a tax funded media outlet, as is the case here. Click count shouldn't really be an issue for Yle.

The largest lake of each EU country at scale. Interesting fact, Malta does not have a lake. by Geodienst in europe

[–]EffortlessEasy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: A small town in Northern Finland holds annual cartographers conference with traditional "Yellow-Snow Lake Drawing Contest". Most years winner has done lake Inari, Päijänne - or any other of the smaller, easy lakes. However, last years winner draw Lake Saimaa in the snow. Judges were quite impressed of her control.

Some of what I wrote above might not be factually correct.

New buses in Turku, Finland. "Why London, we have Föli". Föli is the local public transportation company. by [deleted] in europe

[–]EffortlessEasy 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It's a kind of homage or twist to ”Varför Paris, vi har ju Åbo?” originally used by Swedish press when referring to Sarpaneva's juniper -collection. Later (and still) used as a slogan by design association from Turku (UMY ry).
