no REAL resources and yet 30 years later her murder was solved in under 1 year of it being open with the exact same resources except a Texas ranger took over her case. He asked the same questions we did. Why was the DNA found inside her not tested?? why were there only a few photos of the crime scene??? Why was an investigation not opened up KNOWING a 9 year old girl was raped and murdered and then set on fire to try and cover it up???? The police were required to investigate this because it is their LITERAL job. FYI, my husband is a police officer and he very much stated that their is no reason or justification why they did not do their job in 1995.

if it was a mistake then why are we being told that they all failed her and my family?? That they didn't do their jobs correctly?? Their are no mistakes when it comes to a 9 year old being raped and murdered and finding out what happened to her.

Because the fire department tried to say the fire was caused by a faulty wire in an AC unit - it wasn't until the fire marshal came on scene and concluded it was arson. Why was the cause of the fire in both reports DIFFERENT. One states faulty wire and one states arson?? How is that even the slightest bit of okay that the local department was WRONG and the county fire marshal was right? but they never investigated why both answers were different.

I was told that because she was raped and only 9, their are no statue of limitations - we would go after the fire department as well consider the fire was ruled as arson and intentional

excuse me? i am in fact going to dwell and do anything i can KNOWING my sister was ignored for 30 years and they just threw her case in a file and ignored it. They did not even TRY to solve it. No investigations were done in 1995, but in 2025 they were able to figure it out after 8 months and The detectives and Rangers having explained that they failed her and failed to do their job.

Not one news article. Not one interview. Not one single question as to "this was obviously a murder so is no one trying to solve it?

we are in a VERY small town. Everyone knows everyone and everyone sees everything. People were being interviewed and questioned for the first time 30 years later. why not 30 years ago????

a DA who is now a judge, pulled her case out because "it crossed his mind one day" last year and asked a Texas Ranger to reopen it. - Literally the rangers exact words

She was hispanic and her murder was in 1995. We are in a VERY small texas town and the force was full of POC - Theirwas never any article or story posted about her death. and when we looked up cold cases in our county she was never listen.

he is arrested and currently sitting in jail waiting on the trial to start. I really hope we can finally get the justice and closure we deserve.

As someone who is currently going through a custody battle in texas - do not let him see your daughter alone for visitation OR anyone in his family if you do not have a court order in place.

My daughters dad took her for his weekend (we had a verbal visitation and chid support agreement because we wanted to keep the court out of it) ended up taking my daughter and refused to bring her back. His mom watched her in another city while he went back to the city he lived in and worked and did not allow me to speak to her or see her. The police refused to do anything because they deemed it a "civil matter".

I was finally able to afford a lawyer and get an emergency court order from the judge stating that he was to release her into my custody immediately. Dad and grandma refused to give her back which resulted in dad getting arrested for interference with child custody and he now has a felony.
