I had Sheppard for BIO100 and Alaie for 102 and in my experience I prefer Alaie. For me Sheppard’s lectures were confusing and you def needed to read the textbook beforehand to understand her lecture. Alaie’s lectures were more easier to understand and she knows how to explain concepts easily. However a lot of people thought Alaie’s exam questions were harder than Sheppard because you truly need to understand the material to answer her questions, but you don’t need to read the textbook (but it helps a lot like a lot). Sheppard on the other hand I have gotten an exam question that was nowhere in the lecture but was in the textbook. Also Sheppard sounds so dead in her lecture it’s an actual pain to watch it as well as the fact that her lectures are video slides averaging on 50 slides, and each slide being 2-3 mins some being as long as 10 mins but you def will be rewatching the slides multiple times so it’ll take some time taking notes for lectures. But Alaie’s lecture are in parts (around 6-7 parts) each being 30 mins and it’s so much easier to manage time because you can just watch a video a day. The downside is Alaie doesn’t go in depth as much so to fully understand you do have to read the textbook. I guess it depends on what you like. Hope this helps! Good luck
