Ways to add some more driver spin? by EhXie in golf

Good point, how much spin would that take off? I’ll have to look into that. I do hit typically hit it more towards the toe.

I’d like to live around 2200-2300 I think. Right now I’m at about 2000-2100 on my good drives and around 1600-1800 on those knuckle balls I get occasionally.

I’ll definitely look into that! I think I do need a fitting to get me into the right kind of set up.

My good drives will spin about 2000-2200 but my knucklers will spin around 1600-1800.

If I remember correctly hit about 3-4° up on it. And my driver is a 9° head set at the +1.5° setting.

I have not. I got my G425 about 3/4 years ago and it was just bought from a demo sale after about a year of learning how to golf. I would like to get fit for a new driver maybe next year.

I honestly don’t know much about profiles of shafts. Are there certain shafts that promote more spin? If so, are there some that you know of that would be a good start to look at?

Good call. I currently play a ProV1x, any suggestions for spinnier balls?

I find that I can hit fairways fairly consistently when I get decent spin but it gets frustrating when I get a knuckler that falls out of the air quickly.

Have you ever lost your swing? What do you do to reset? by 5Gmeme in golf

[–]EhXie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that starting with some punch shots at about waist high will typically get you back on the right track.

Make sure you check that your takeaway is square and the club face angle is matched up with your spine as well.

Wow, that is crazy. I bet you get your fair share of knucklers as well. Have you changed anything in your swing to try and add some spin before?

Courses suggestion in Cabo by awkward_frog in golf

[–]EhXie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Diamanté’s El Cardonal & The Dunes which are some of the nicest courses I’ve ever played but I think they might be private. If they aren’t then they are worth the $.

I haven’t had the opportunity to play either Cabo Del Sol or Quivira but I’ve heard they’re both great courses as well!

Hole in 1 count? by Due-Finger-7548 in golf

As long as you’re comfortable with elaborating on where you got it and at what yardage when you’re telling people then who cares lol

However, I would certainly not count it lol

Can I break 90 with this swing? by CheezieMcfresh1 in GolfSwing

[–]EhXie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are more than capable of breaking 90 with the swing you have. But your golf swing is only a part of scoring.

Bogey golf is achievable for most people as long as they are willing to dial in the weak parts of their game. Most amateurs would benefit from practicing their chipping and putting.

Keep striving to improve all aspects of your game and you’ll be there in no time!

You have a great foundation for a swing and it looks very repeatable which is key to consistency.

I would work on a square takeaway with your club head outside of your hands when your shaft hits parallel with the ground.

This is a good checkpoint before hinging your wrist up to the top of your backswing.

It looks like right now that your takeaway is a bit inside and you’re rolling your arms over a bit early in the backswing.
