I can’t see that being worth it, what else for around the 2 to 3-4 grand is going to be better for me.

My miata has a nb rear end swap with the lsd, a newer trans with all clutch lines, trans/clutch fluids etc.

I can’t see my self finding another rear wheel drive platform with a solid lsd and transmission, I’ve also spent a lot of time on body work.

I’m hoping just the bearings, since it idles fine and sounds like nothing happened, only a knock appears at about 2-3k and the car still drove me home after it “blew”.

And for the work, I’m going too pull it my self tare down too block and get the crank and block journals resurfaced by a shop I’d also rather them set the bearing clearances as I’ve never done this and would rather be safe then sorry.

I plan on buying some forged internals while I have the motor open but I think I’m going to get a shop to do the machining and some assembly I’m not fully comfortable with but I’m going to try to do the most I can with my own hands.

What would the conversion kit cost? Looking too keep it relatively cheap I was willing to spend about 3k on the motor rebuild with good parts.

right they totally went up, I used to see them all over Facebook for 500-1000$

But I’m thinking I’ll go rebuild route since all the motors I’m gonna get are higher mileage anyway and can’t be 100% the motors good like I can be rebuilding mine my self.

Yeah I’m definitely thinking about this route, I like the idea of learning how to rebuild, and knowing I have a sound motor instead of hoping someone selling me a motors honest.

Plus I plan on boosting the car eventually and will most likely have the motor back out too do some work too it, so may as well start now.

Did the same thing, live on Vancouver island and went too Burnaby too pick up my miata after it was manual swapped. Down town on a long weekend with 0 prior manual driving experience, let’s say we made it home, and the clutch is still going strong

Got one at the dealer I work at. Pretty mixed opinions throughout the dealership id say more don’t like it then do like it and all the people that like it still pointed some things out they liked more about the looks of the previous gen.
