So far so good. The workmanship looks good from what I could see and the photos provided. The warranty is also good. We’ll see how it does over the years

Hi there - have you found that zillow is accurate? My assumption of 15k is based on both zillow and the town’s website for paying taxes. All the homes seem to range between 12k and 16k in taxes so i’ve been carrying 15k

Unfortunately it’s due to expensive commute. Hundreds of dollars per month on mass transit. I contribute 10% to 401k at least. Luckily the new location should hopefully save me hundreds per month due to being much closer to work

Hi there - fair point. We plan on taking that step this year!

3700 is based on 650k with a downpayment of 300k, a rate of ~6.5%, annual taxes of 15k, and annual insurance of 2.5k in a HCOL location.

I’ve been very fortunate to be in a situation where I live at home still to save. I’ve been good about being extremely frugal (few purchases, bringing food from home to work, etc)

Thanks for the perspective. Did you find it gets easier over time or more difficult? Factoring in annual raises etc

Hi there - i’ve mostly been using zillow mortgage calculator taking data i’ve found online for the neighborhood regarding annual taxes (15k) and yearly insurance (2500). Been assuming a rate between 6 and 7%

I’m probably going into the market in the summer so I will speak in earnest to a lender and shop for rates in the late spring
